Chapter 22
(Zion’s POV)
I lost control.
I was on Lucien, slamming him into the floor again and again until it cracked from the pressure. Lily screamed, “Zion! Please! Stop! You’re hurting him!”
But her voice didn’t soothe us. It only made it worse.
She was crying for him. For Lacien
Ragnar snarled. He hated that she was defending someone else, someone who was trying to take her from us.
I raised my fist again, ready to end it… when Lucien shifted. His beast ripped through his skin, claws slicing the air, thick fur erupting as elongated fangs bared with a snarl.
A smoky–gray hybrid lunged at me, and Ragnar’s lips curled into a sly smirk. “Perfect. You were making it too easy, Nivrak,” he spat.
Boom. The force of our beasts clashing shook the hallway.
Nivrak slashed toward Ragnar’s side, but he dodged the blow by inches and rammed his shoulder into Nivrak’s chest, sending him crashing into a now of lockers.
Nivrak roared, staggering on his feet. Our beasts circled each other, tall and towering, snarling with fury.
Ragnar moved first, with frightening speed, and sank his claws into Nivrak’s shoulder. He dragged him across the hallway before slamming him into the tiled wall. The impact split the wall with a thunderous crack, sending chunks of it crashing down.
Nivrak bared his teeth and retaliated. He bit into Ragnar’s arm, and despite the bleeding, Ragnar didn’t flinch. Instead, he was excited.
Then he grabbed Nivrak by the throat and flung him over his head.
He crashed into the ceiling and dust rained down as the entire corridor trembled under our fight Lockers bent, books flew into the air, and cards scattered across the broken tiles like fallen leaves. The fire alarm wailed, but no one dared to come close.
I could feel Ragnar’s thoughts turning darker with every blow. He wasn’t just trying to win. He was enjoying it. Nivrak was no longer a rival. He was prey.
Nivrak tried to back away, chest heaving, fur torn, but Ragnar didn’t let him Claws raked across Nivrak’s side, tearing long lines through flesh and for. Blood splattered the walls,
And Ragnart He was just getting started. More lockers flew off their hinges, walls crumbled and the ceiling sagged.
Ragnar hadn’t had this kind of freedom in a long time. I could feel his joy, the thrill
but he puck
pushed it
After he kills Lucien, he’ll take Lily and then tame her… Her sweet scent of fresh rain mixed with lavender kept calling to him. But aide to focus on Nivrak. Once Nivrak was gone, Lily would be ours.
Celeste’s vanilla sceni was somewhere in the growing crowd, but it didn’t matte
We had to end it now.
Then a voice broke through.
“Stop
Our clawed hand froze mid–air. We knew that voler, Zelda’s.
Her hybrid, Keira, enveloped the hallway with a strong presence. It calmed us, and Ragnar paused.
He knew her. His hybrid sister.
Ragnar breathed heavily, chest rising g and falling, blood dripping from his claws. Slowly, he rose from the limp, pale body of Nivrak Slowly, slowly, he let me take control and I shifted.

My knees hit the cracked ground first. I stayed there, breathing hard, shaking. Only then did I realize 1 was crying
Zelda came to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. She didn’t speak, but just led me away.
I turned to look back: half of the school was in ruins, the hallway was in shambles, glass shattered and the ceiling opened to the sky.
Everyone: Principal Thamior, the teachers, and the students were all hiding in corners, too afraid to move.
1 bit my lip and walked silently beside Zelda to the car… As we approached the car, the guards exchanged worried glances. Their bodies were rigid. alert, like they feared the worst. The chauffeur opened the door quietly, not saying a word.
The ride home
was quiet.
I cried silently, tears rolling down my cheeks while Zelda held my hand comfortingly, but it couldn’t stop the pain spreading to my chest. I felt like dying… I was losing Lily and there was nothing I could do to get her back.

When we arrived, the palace was quiet. Mother and Father were likely away on a meeting. Zelda said nothing, but walked with me inside, and up the grand staircase to my room.
I dropped onto my bed the moment we entered. Zelda closed the door gently and came to sit beside me. “What’s wrong Zion?” she asked softly, and
was the last straw–because my tear glands gave away harder.
With a shaky voice, I told her “Lily is my mate”

Her eyes widened as her palm covered her mouth. She couldn’t speak.
