Chapter 64
(Lily’s POV)
The night breeze floated through the window, soft and cool. I was deep in sleep when I felt the mattress dip behind me.
I didn’t have to open my eyes to know who it was.
“Zion…” I whispered, still half–asleep. It had been weeks since the principal threatened me, and Zion’s relationship and I had only gotten better.
A low chuckle vibrated against my skin as his arms wrapped around my waist, tugging me back against him. I purred, melting into his warmth.
“You never use the front door like a normal person.”
“How could I?” he murmured, his voice already teasing. “It’s past midnight, I missed my girl so I snuck out of the palace.”
I turned around to face him, and he didn’t waste time. His mouth found mine, and just like that, I was fully awake. The kiss was lazy at first, but something shifted as his hands roamed. A low growl rumbled in his throat and he pulled away to disappear completely under the blanket.
“Zion-“I gasped, when his lips found my sensitive core.
“Shhh,” he murmured between sloppy kisses, and licking “Unless you want Aunt Lamia to know I’m here.”
“You’re bad…” I moaned, shutting my eyes again.
And he surely took me to heaven.

The next morning, I stood in front of the mirror, lip gloss wand in hand, cheeks still flushed. I couldn’t stop smiling.
Outside, a car horn blared. I peeked through the window.
It was Zion.
I squealed and rushed out of my room. Aunt Lamia was already at the front door, sipping tea while chatting casually with him.
“Oh, there she is,” she said with a knowing smile.
Zion grinned. “Thank you, Aunt Lamia. I’ll make sure she gets to school safely.”
“Take care, Prince Zion,” she said, waving.
I hurried toward the car but stopped when I heard her call behind me.
“No goodbye?”
I turned quickly and ran back to hug her. “See you after school, Aunty.”

She leaned close, her voice soft against my ear. “Sure. Have fun with your mate… but tell him to stop sneaking in through your window.”
I froze.
What?
The hair on my arms rose. I stepped back slowly, my heart thumping.
She knew. How long had she known?
But before I could speak, she just smiled and walked back into the house like nothing happened.
I bit my lip nervously, then scurried off.
Zion was leaning on the hood of the car, smirking. “You alright?”
“I–Yeah,” I mumbled, slipping into the front seat.
He started the engine. “You look like you saw a ghost.”
I groaned. “Aunt Lamia knows. About us. About you sneaking in.”

“Oh?” He grinned, one hand on the wheel, the other sliding onto my thigh. “Guess I wasn’t as sneaky as I thought.”
I slapped his arm lightly. “You’re not even sorry!”
“Nope,” he smirked. “In fact, I think it’s time I tell my parents about us.”
“What?! No!” I stared at him. “Zion, no one can know about yet. Please, after graduation”
He nodded thoughtfully. “Okay… I’ll wait. But hiding you is getting harder.”
I smiled faintly, laying my hand over his. “You don’t have to hide it from me.”
We arrived at school just as the bell rang. The air was tense, and all eyes followed us. Whispers curled around lockers like smoke.
“Oh my goddess! Did you see what I just saw? The prince is carrying her bag, and holding her hand.” a student said.
“Worse, she’s wearing his jacket. What is going on?” Another one said
We just walked in silence with our chins held high. We only splitted at the classroom door, where he winked and went to his seat near Kade, while I slid into mine by the window.
Still, throughout the first and second period, I felt him watching me. Every time I looked up, he was smirking.
By the time break arrived, my heart was fluttering just from the weight of his gaze.
Zion was at my desk before I could stand. He offered his hand, and I took it without hesitation. We entered the cafeteria with entwined hands and all eyes turned again.
Zion seemed to be more of an attention magnet.

Chapter 64
My friends were already seated, so we joined them. Zion sat beside Aria and Tobe, while Dev just glared coldly with his arms folded… but instead of just sitting next to me, Zion pulled me onto his laps like I was weightless.
I gasped, squirming against his hold. “Zion, what are you doing?”
He leaned into my ear. “If you keep moving like that, I won’t be responsible for what happens under this table.”
My cheeks burned. “Zion!”
“Sit still then,” he whispered, biting back a grin.
I tried not to meet anyone’s eyes. But I couldn’t ignore the glares… especially Celeste’s. She sat far across the room, but her gaze was searing. A few students glanced between us, clearly whispering things they didn’t have the courage to say out loud.
Aria laughed softly, nudging me. “You two are disgusting.”
“Jealous?” Zion teased.
Tobe smirked. “A little.”
Dev said nothing, but just stared at Zion like he couldn’t decide whether to punch him or walk away. Zion didn’t seem to
care.
When our food came, Zion gently shifted me off his lap and placed the tray in front of me. His arm draped around my shoulder the entire time.
That was when Aria leaned closer and whispered, “You’re still coming over this weekend, right? For the study group?”
I nodded. “Of course.”
Zion added, “I’ll be joining too.”
Dev finally spoke, muttering under his breath bitterly, “Of course, you will.”
Zion smiled cockily. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

We all chuckled softly, except Dev, who kept glaring holes into the table. Still, the atmosphere felt normal until I felt it.
I felt a presence, like someone was watching me.
I turned toward the cafeteria’s glass wall and froze.
A figure stood outside, half–hidden in shadow, wearing a hood that covered most of its face. I couldn’t see his eyes. I couldn’t tell if it was a male or female. But I knew, somehow, that I was being watched.
Chills ran down my spine.
Zion noticed my stillness and followed my gaze. By the time he looked, the figure was gone.
My phone buzzed on the table.
I picked it up and blinked at the message from an unknown number:
