On the other side, Quintin touched Susan’s

photo on the tombstone, tears streaming
down his face.
Dr. Sun tried to comfort him, but he pushed
her away.
“Don’t touch me, I’m only Susan’s.

Seeing Quintin’s rejection, Jake’s eyes
flashed, quickly changing the subject.
“Quintin, don’t be sad, we can avenge Susan today.”
“But after today, are you going to let her go?”
Quintin’s expression turned serious. Jake and Dr. Sun held their breath, waiting for him to speak.
“I’ll make her watch me marry someone else, and long for me for the rest of her life!”
Quintin didn’t notice the exchange of knowing
glances between Jake and Dr. Sun, a flicker
of triumph in their eyes.
He finished applying the special blood and his
phone rang repeatedly.
Annoyed, he answered.
Chapter 2
“Quintin, Sarah was in a car accident. She fell
into the river. Can you come?”
Quintin’s face was a mask of shock. He
clutched his phone tightly.
“What? Say that again. Who was in an
accident?”
The voice on the other end was calm. It
repeated itself.
“Sarah was in a car accident and fell into the
river. You’re her only emergency contact.
Please come.”
<
Quintin’s phone slipped from his hand. He
turned to Jake, who was still setting up the
memorial.
His lips trembled.
“Jake, stop. Sarah… she won’t be coming.” He slapped himself frantically, then banged his head against the tombstone.
“It’s my fault. If I hadn’t tricked her into
coming here, she wouldn’t have had an
accident.
“I… I killed her.”

“Susan, I’m sorry. I killed your only sister. I’m
so sorry.”
Jake and Emily rushed to hold him.
“Quintin, is something wrong? Why would
Sarah have an accident?”
“She’s no ordinary person. Maybe she’s up to
something. Didn’t Susan take the fall for her
before?”
Emily chimed in,
“Yeah, Quintin, she probably couldn’t stand
me being around you, so she planned this
accident. It’s too much of a coincidence,
happening while you were having an
episode.”
With Jake and Emily’s comforting words, the
sorrow on Quintin’s face quickly subsided.
He said coldly,
“Continue setting up. I’ll punish her tenfold.
I’ll make her regret this.”
Quintin stayed at Susan’s grave from dawn till
dusk.
He stared intently at the entrance, the air
around him heavy with tension.
<
Jake gestured for Emily to check on him, but
Quintin’s icy glare stopped her.
But he didn’t wait for me until dawn.
As the sun rose again, his eyes were
bloodshot, his fists clenched, his anger
simmering.
“Let’s go!”
