Chapter 105 A Family Full of Oddities
Not knowing what was bothering him, Abigail was only focused on preparing dinner for the evening.
On the other side, Anthony was still busy with work. After taking his medication, he went through the discharge procedures.
As soon as he arrived at the office, he received a call from Jason.
Anthony furrowed his brow, a bit annoyed.
“What’s up?”
Jason chuckled, “Look at you, Anthony, is it so odd for me to care about you? I heard from Ryan that you were hospitalized for a gastric perforation. How are you? Feeling better?”
Anthony rubbed his temple. “Just get to the point.”
If it were a real concern, why hadn’t Jason visited him yesterday when he was in the hospital?
Jason didn’t beat around the bush.
He said, “Anthony, what’s going on with you and Abigail?”
“Divorced.”
Chapter 105 A Family Full of Oddities “Really divorced?”
Anthony furrowed again. “What’s going on?”
Jason finally got to the main issue.

“It’s about my uncle. Something happened in his family. Today, my aunt and the kids were crying at home.”
Anthony crossed his legs. “The one who kicked his first wife to the countryside for his dream lover? Didn’t he pass away recently?”
He remembered even attending the memorial service.
Jason replied, “Yes, that’s him. He was really unlucky. When he was young, he didn’t have money. Then when he finally made some, he reunited with his dream lover, Ashley, from his youth and had a kid. But now that he’s gone, he wants to leave his fortune to Ashley and the kids. The problem is…”
Anthony snorted, “Didn’t you get it wrong? It’s your aunt who should inherit. Ashley is a mistress, and she shouldn’t inherit.”

Jason sighed, “In the eyes of the law, yes. But Ashley has been with my uncle for so many years, and she gave him a son.”
Anthony didn’t agree with this reasoning.

But since it was someone else’s family matter, he couldn’t say too much.
“So what? This is your family business, not mine or Abigail’s.”

Jason added, “It’s about my uncle’s wife. After he passed, he left a will that gave all his money to Ashley and the kid. But now, his wife and daughter have hired a lawyer and are suing Ashley to reclaim my uncle’s estate. Yesterday, Ashley came over to tell me this. Guess who the lawyer they hired is?”
Anthony’s heart skipped a beat, his nerves on edge.
“Abigail? No way. She doesn’t have a qualification certificate to be a lawyer.”
“No, it’s not Abigail, but her boss. A top lawyer named Felix Rowe. I had people check his background. Turns out, he’s the same guy who was kissing Abigail in a bar, and someone took a picture and sent it to Ryan.”
The mention of Felix made Anthony grip his phone tightly.
His teeth clenched. “So what?”
Jason laughed, “Well, I was thinking if your relationship with Abigail has eased, maybe you could have Abigail talk to Mr. Rowe and convince him not to take the case.”
Anthony’s mind was spinning.
“Your uncle left a will, didn’t he? Just follow the will. Your aunt

is in the right. Why does it matter what lawyer they hire?”
Jason’s irritation was palpable.

“You don’t know! I checked Mr. Rowe’s credentials. This guy is impressive. He’s never lost a case in court. I’m just trying to be cautious.”
Jason paused before continuing, “Also, I’m thinking of Abigail’s safety. Ashley has some connections, and if Abigail gets involved in this case, whether Felix wins or loses, she could still be in danger.”
Anthony massaged his temple with his fingers.
“Whether she’s in danger or not has nothing to do with me. Don’t bring up her issues to me again.”
With that, he hung up.
He had intended to rest for a moment but found his headache growing worse. His mind was in turmoil.
Finally, he opened his eyes and called Abigail.
At that moment, Abigail was shopping for groceries with Vanessa. Felix was pushing the cart behind them.
Abigail’s phone rang and she saw Anthony’s call.
She immediately hung up without thinking.

Anthony noticed the call had ended and frowned even deeper.
The thought that Abigail was living with Felix now, working
alongside him, only made him feel more restless.
Just then, Diana called.
Although Anthony was annoyed, he still answered.
Diana’s voice was hoarse. “Anthony, I’m feeling terrible. My mouth is covered in sores. Can you come back and take me to the hospital?”
“I’m really busy right now. Tell Abi…”
He almost said Abigail’s name but caught himself.
Before, when there were issues at home, Abigail took care of everything.
Whether it was Marcus being sick or Diana not feeling well.
Abigail always handled it, never making him worry.
But now, realizing they were divorced, Anthony felt a pang of discomfort in his chest. He gritted his teeth.
“I have an important meeting coming up. I’ll make arrangements for you.”
With that, he hung up the phone.
Chapter 105 A Family Full of Oddities Anthony hesitated and scrolled through his contacts multiple.
times.
He realized there were very few people he could rely on.
Eventually, he clicked on Michelle’s number.
He had already bothered her quite a lot recently, so it felt awkward asking for more help.
But with no other choice, he dialed her number.
Michelle was at her office, sketching a design, yawning from
xhaustion.

After spending the night dealing with Diana and Marcus, she felt completely drained.
When she saw Anthony’s call, she assumed he was calling to comfort or check on her.
Her mood brightened a little, but as soon as Anthony spoke, her smile froze.
“Michelle, I… might need to trouble you again.”
Michelle immediately guessed that it was probably something related to Diana and Marcus causing trouble.
“What happened?”
“It’s my mom. She just called me saying she’s not feeling well

and needs to go to the hospital. But I have an important meeting coming up. Can you…?”
Hearing this, Michelle gripped her phone tightly, her other hand clenching into a fist.
How could Diana be so inconsiderate, always creating problems
for her?
Despite being unwilling, she put on a brave face and said, “It’s fine, Anthony. I’ll go back right away.”
Hearing her response, Anthony felt a wave of guilt.
Michelle, I’m really sorry to trouble you.”
“Why are you being so polite? If you really feel guilty, then spend more time with me.
He was strange. Before he and Abigail divorced, he would think about going back to the Robinson Manor to spend time with Michelle, even if it was just chatting or having a meal together. It made him feel at ease.
But now that he was divorced, and in theory should have more time to be with Michelle, every time he saw her, he felt a strange
pressure.
Hanging up, Miehelle, though reluctant, took leave from work and drove back.
