Chapter 244
Cain had been incredibly unlucky these past few days.
Especially today–his bed suddenly collapsed out of nowhere. It made no sense at all.
This reminded him of the warnings and reminders from his two brothers.
Apart from the servants, it was just him and Sienna in the house, and it felt eerily lonely. There was also an indescribable sense of unease.
So, he called Joshua and Jamar, asking them to come back and keep him company.
Just like Leon, Joshua and Jamar had also instructed the servants to keep an eye on Cain and Sienna.
So, when they heard about Cain’s streak of misfortune, they were just relieved it wasn’t happening to them. They felt a little sorry for him, sure, but mostly, they were just glad they had dodged the bullet.
When Cain called, both of them comforted him over the phone.
But the moment he asked them to come back and stay with him, they both hung up without hesitation.
They had worked so hard to escape–why would they willingly walk back into Sienna’s trap?
Especially with how strange Cain had been acting lately. The servants‘ reports alone had sent shivers down their spines.
It was beyond bizarre.
The further they stayed away, the safer they felt.
Cain, after being mercilessly rejected by his own brothers, felt utterly lost and a little heartbroken.
Had his own siblings abandoned him?
For the first time, he started considering moving out. But what should he do?
The next few days were just as disastrous. Even when he stayed home, bad luck followed him.
He choked on water while drinking. Even when he avoided takeout and ate the meals prepared by the servants, he still somehow managed to find bugs in his food.
It was absurd.
He tripped while walking. He bumped into walls and vases.
Deals he had already secured fell through. Even the lead actor who had agreed to sign a contract suddenly backed out.
Cain was on the verge of losing his mind.
One night, while eating, he was lost in thought and suddenly choked on his food.
He nearly suffocated.
Sienna quickly patted his back and said in a gentle voice, “Cain, eat slower.”
But there was a flicker of guilt in her eyes. ‘Looks like Cain had lost a third of his luck. No wonder he was so unlucky.
Choking on food and water–terrifying.
Good thing her luck had recovered quite a bit.
Otherwise, if it had weakened any further, she might have ended up like Cain.
After catching his breath, Cain felt like he was about to break down.
Why had things been going so wrong for him lately?
Then he recalled Joshua’s warning,
A couple of unlucky incidents were nothing, but having a streak of bad luck every single day? That was way too ridiculous.
He cautiously sipped some water, then, feeling slightly better, turned to Sienna.

Chapter 244
“Sienna, you said you wanted to borrow my luck before… You didn’t actually take it, did you? Is that why I’ve been so unlucky lately?”
Sienna laughed. “Cain, what are you even thinking? There’s no such thing as that. I was just joking with you, and you took it seriously? If that were really possible, you could go ask someone else to lend you their luck and see if it works.”
Of course, without casting an actual spell, it wouldn’t work.
And she certainly wasn’t going to admit anything to Cain.
Cain was half–convinced. “I guess you’re right.”
But the seed of doubt had already been planted.
Looking back, ever since he had agreed to give Sienna his luck, things had started to go wrong.
And now, he couldn’t help but feel a slight sense of distance from her.
“I think I’ll move out and stay with Joshua for a few days.”
Since Sienna had already taken his luck, she didn’t really care whether he stayed or not.
“That’s fine,” she said casually. “Or better yet, why don’t you invite Joshua and Jamar back here? The house feels too empty.”
Her skin and appearance had recovered, but her luck still wasn’t as strong as it had been before Phoebe returned.
If she could borrow a third of the luck from the other two top–tier brothers as well, her luck would skyrocket.
Normally, Cain wouldn’t have thought much of it. But today, when he looked at Sienna, he had a weird feeling.
The way she talked about Joshua and Jamar… it was almost like she was eyeing two delicious pieces of meat.
He shuddered involuntarily and immediately dismissed the strange thought. “I already asked them, but they said they’re too busy to come back.”
Sienna was a little disappointed. “Oh… Well, ask again when you see Joshua.”
Cain nodded. “Alright.”
He was worried Joshua might refuse to take him in, so he packed his things and planned to show up unannounced.
Just as he was about to leave, suitcase in hand, he heard voices from the living room–Sienna and Ollie were talking.
He set his suitcase down and walked over.
Just as he reached the door, he heard Sienna complaining about how unlucky she had been lately.
She even mentioned how Cain had been unlucky too.
Something about this conversation felt eerily familiar.
Then he heard Sienna say to Ollie, “Ollie, I’ve been really unlucky lately. Can you lend me some of your luck?”
Cain froze in place.
No wonder this sounded familiar–this was exactly how she had tricked him before!
His heart clenched. Ollie absolutely could not agree to this.
He was about to step in and stop it when he heard Ollie reply, “Why should I lend you my luck? Our luck isn’t even the same.
Cain paused, curious about how the conversation would unfold.
Sienna looked at Ollie expectantly, her expression turning soft and coy.
“Ollie, I heard that if you’re unlucky, you can borrow luck from someone who loves you, and it’ll make things go much smoother. Maybe it’s just a psychological comfort, but I want to try it. Who knows? It might actually help.
She had already planned how to manipulate Ollie.
It was just too perfect–he had coincidentally come home today, and it was just the two of them in the living room
She needed to act fast before Leon or anyone else mentioned the whole “borrowing luck” thing to Ollie and made him suspicious.

But Ollie wasn’t that easy to fool
The Jenkins Group had a horoscope master on retainer, and most of the higher–ups strongly believed in astrology and fortune readings.
Naturally, Ollie did too.
So he was particularly sensitive to this kind of thing.
He chuckled, “You’re such a child. How can you believe in something so ridiculous? If you really feel unlucky, I can call Damon in a few days and have him check things out for you.”
Despite everything Sienna had done to disappoint them, he still had a bit of sibling affection for her.
If he could help, he would.
Sienna was speechless, Call Damon? What was the point of that?
That so–called master was completely useless.
The last time, when her face was hurting, that fraud had only made it worse.
No need to call Damon.” She grabbed Ollie’s arm and shook it gently.
“I just want a little psychological comfort. Besides, if you say you’re lending me some luck, it won’t actually affect you, right?”
She continued to act coy, “Ollie, just humor me, okay?”
