His words stabbed into me.
“I don’t care. It’s just a necklace. Sarah can
have it.”
They were all over each other, never hiding.
Dean told me to make some food for Sarah,
and I cut myself with a knife.
Dean ran to me, frowning. “How did that
happen?”
I shook my head.
Sarah walked over, frowning. “It’s my
birthday. Do you hate me that much?”
Dean glared at me. “Don’t try to get my
attention with this.”
“Sarah and I are getting married.”
My finger throbbed. “I’m happy for you both. I
just cut myself.”
Dean stared at me. “I know what you’re
doing.”
“Dean! I only think of you as a brother!
Besides, I have a boyfriend, and we’re getting
married soon!”
I was starting to blush, thinking about Luke.
Luke texted. “Did you forget about me?”
I did almost forget about Luke!
Buying another place will take time. He’ll have
to stay in the house for now.
I unconsciously smiled. He was starting to
mean something to me.
Luke’s face fell when he saw me. “Your face!
What happened?”
I hugged him.

I took Luke home and felt Dean’s glare.
Sarah was having a party, they had a lot of
guests.
I led Luke to my room to avoid the crowd.
“Sorry, it’s Sarah’s birthday. You’ll have to
stay here with me.”
Luke wrapped his arms around me and kissed

I turned away. “Why are you blushing?” Luke
asked.
I looked at the party.
My dad always wanted a party for me, but

Luke held my hand. “We’re going to have a
party.”
I stared into his eyes and nodded.

Dean knocked and told me to come
downstairs.
I told Luke to stay in here.
There was a loud shout.
“Why is there a bug in my drink?”
Dean grabbed my arm, dragging me outside.

I tripped, falling on the ground, scratching my
knee.
“Do you want to make us embarrassed? You
put a bug in her drink?”
Dean held Sarah.
“Why do you keep hurting me?”
Dean called for a guard. “Make her eat the
bug!”
I bit my lip.
“Are you crazy?”
“Ashley!”
Luke walked to me. My dad shook.
My dad’s face was red. Dean looked nervous.
“It was Ashley, but…”
My dad cut him off. “I always thought of you
as a son, but why did you hurt Ashley?”
Luke picked me up, Dean took a step
forward, my dad raised his hand and pointed
to the camera.
Sarah’s hand began to shake.
After watching the film, his face turned dark
and he viciously looked at Sarah.
“I just did it because of love.”
Dean pushed her away. “Sarah I thought you
were innocent! You should leave.”
Sarah stared at Dean. He froze, feeling bad
for a moment. He should be marrying Sarah
and going on with his plan.
“I’m having your baby, you can’t do this!”
Luke took me away.
Dean stared at us.
His mind began to cloud as he saw Ashley.
He was supposed to be giving her a better
life, yet it was slipping from his hands.
Now the only thing he feels is pain.
My dad bought a new place.
Luke and I stayed together, growing closer.
Luke kept surprising me.
I hugged him. “Want another million?”
He laughed. “What’s wrong?”
“My dad wants us married, so… I don’t want
you to lose out on anything.”
He shut me up.
