John threw open Ashley’s bedroom door.
She was lying in bed. Seeing him, she shifted, letting her nightgown slip off her shoulder,
revealing bare skin.
She waited for him to react, to move towards her.
Instead, he lunged forward, grabbing her

throat, lifting her off the bed.
“Ashley! I tried to help you, and you made me
kill our children for nothing!”
“Because of you, Sarah left! Because of you, she’s gone!”
“Was it all some sick game?”
“You’re going to die, Ashley! You’ll pay for
what you did to my children!”
Ashley clawed at his hands, her face turning
purple from lack of air.

John’s parents rushed in.
“John! Are you crazy? Let her go!”
His father struggled to pry John’s hands
away, his mother biting down hard on John’s
arm.
John cried out in pain and released his grip.
Ashley collapsed on the floor, gasping for air.
John’s father slapped him hard across the
face.
“What has gotten into you? Burying bodies in the backyard, now trying to hurt Ashley!”

“What has that woman done to you?”
His mother comforted Ashley.
“Ashley, don’t be afraid. We’ll protect you.
John will apologize.”
Seeing his parents shield Ashley, John
laughed bitterly.
“Do you even know what this…bitch has done? And you’re protecting her?”
“Our children, they could have been healthy, happy babies. She’s the reason they’re gone! She said she needed their hearts for some cure! She made me kill my own children!”

“And it was all a lie! She tricked me! I killed
my own children for nothing! She fed their
hearts to dogs!”
“And you’re protecting her? You’re hitting me
for her?”
His parents were stunned into silence.
Then, his mother pushed Ashley away and
stood aside.
His father looked at Ashley with disgust.
Seeing their change in demeanor, Ashley crawled towards John, clutching at his legs.

“Johnny, I did it because I love you!”
“I was afraid you wouldn’t want me anymore
if you and Sarah had a baby, so I made it
up!”
“You love me too, don’t you? Why else would
you do that for me?”
“Now I’m cured, Sarah is gone…let’s get
married, let’s be together.”
John kicked her away.
“My wife is Sarah.‘
“I was foolish, confused. I could never love

someone as cruel as you.”
“You killed my children. I won’t let you get
away with this.”
“When I find Sarah, you will pay for what you
did.”
He glanced at his phone and rushed out.
Ashley turned to his parents, her last hope.
“Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, you watched me
grow up. You’ll forgive me, won’t you?”
“You promised I could marry Johnny! You can’t go back on your word!”

The truth had shattered any affection they
held for her.
“You killed our grandchildren! You dare ask
for forgiveness? You’re a monster! You’ll
never be a part of this family!”
“Someone, get this…woman out of my
house!”
John raced back to his office after receiving a
message from his assistant.
