Fortunately, the baby in my belly was fine, but Allen was not happy.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked.
When he was angry, he would frown and lower his eyes from looking at me.
I sat on the hospital bed, pondering for a long time before saying, “First, I don’t know whether you or your family welcome this child. Second, I am worried that you or your family will ask me to abort the child. Third, I don’t want to remarry.”
Although I did not know what I really wanted, I knew what I did not want.
He was stunned for a moment, then chuckled and said, “Where did you learn to say ‘your family‘ all the time?”
“It often happens in TV dramas,” I said.

After a moment of silence, the man suddenly said very seriously, “Then should we break up? ‘My family‘ won’t allow any illegitimate children to wander around.”
“If that’s the case, I would choose the baby,” I said in a hoarse voice, holding back tears, but emotionally stable.
“If I can never recognize this child, can you accept it?” he asked.
I thought for a moment and nodded.
Allen seemed a bit disappointed, shook my hand and got up to leave.
I thought he had left. I thought it was over with him. Tears rolled down like water drops and my chest was dull and painful. My throat felt dry. I could not help crying.
I knew, I loved him.
The door suddenly opened again and Allen came in carrying some fruits and food. Seeing my face full of tears, he panicked.
“Why are you crying? Is your stomach still

painful? I’ll go call the doctor.”
I quickly grabbed him and buried myself in his arms, crying uncontrollably. “I thought you had left, I thought you didn’t want me anymore.”
He patted my back and, “Silly, you can choose the baby and I can choose you too.”
The joy of being a mother for the first time. is truly incomparable. In order to prepare for the birth of my baby, I took a leave of absence from work and stayed at home.
Anyway, the company belonged to Allen, so I could go back anytime I wanted.
Amy and other co–workers, who always spent our break time and lunch together, congratulated and envied me one after another and began calling me “Boss Lady“.
Allen entrusted someone to find the best obstetrician in the city, paid a large sum of money and asked her to be on call for me at any time.
