“You married Jackson Wagner just to get a factory job and avoid being sent to the countryside, I won’t blame you for that. But if you keep playing these hot–and–cold games, it’s getting really old, really fast. You can go back right now and divorce Jackson. After that, I’ll still marry you. That way, everyone will know that you only got married to make me jealous and that the person you truly love is still me.“)
I really did overestimate William. I initially thought he genuinely knew he was wrong, but looking at him now, it’s clear his remorse only stems from the fact that no one else wants him at the moment. “William, my husband is right outside the door. I wasn’t even willing to come see you, but my husband suggested I do. Do you know why?”
William froze for a second. “Isn’t it because your marriage is fake?”
I shook my head. “No. It’s because we truly love each other. He trusts me and I’m loyal to him. As for you, Sofia doesn’t want you anymore, so why on earth do you think I would?“}
I didn’t give William a chance to reply. I turned and walked away.

The next six months flew by. My relationship with Jackson grew more and more stable and my mother’s health also improved Significantly. Sofia and the factory director’s son’s wedding took place as scheduled. However, on the wedding day, William suddenly appeared, throwing several fish onto Sofia’s face. “Sofia, didn’t you say you wanted to eat the fish I personally caught? I brought them for you.”
Sofia was practically furious, but William wasn’t done. He actually snatched the microphone from the host and said to the groom, “Hey, buddy, did you know your wife is really good at raising fish?“}
This remark was too weird for the groom to understand, but he definitely caught William’s sarcastic tone. “What exactly do you mean by that?”
William then started spilling every detail of his past with Sofia; nothing held him back. He even described the mole on her buttock in graphic detail. I still don’t know if they’d slept together back then or if it was something that happened later, but either way, the whole wedding turned into a complete disaster. The groom’s family stormed out in anger, and the very next day, they dragged Sofia to file for divorce.§
Sofia’s reputation was utterly ruined. Out of desperation, she had no choice but to find William and ask him to marry her. However, William simply humiliated her and refused. This led to Sofia hastily marrying a man with poor prospects who was more than twenty years older than her and had been married before. Her whole family moved away from here.
After this mess, William’s parents started setting him up on blind dates. When it comes to men, scandals don’t really hurt them. And with his good looks and background, he had no shortage of options. Word had it he was about to get engaged again. But one night, as I was heading home from a late shift, he suddenly appeared and blocked my way.
