Time heals all wounds. I tossed the ring in the
trash.
I looked up into a pair of smiling eyes.
“The rose has left the garden?”
“Little rose, I’ve been waiting.”
Mark found me a year later. But I had
someone else.
I was lifted onto a railing, playfully kissing
Liam. He got my permission to hold me,
wanting more intimacy.
Before he could kiss me, Mark pulled him
away.
Mark grabbed Liam’s collar. Seeing his face,
he raged: “Liam, you’re poaching my ex!”
Liam smirked. “You said it was skill if I could.
Why are you so upset now?”
Mark ignored him, turning to me, his
expression like he’d caught me cheating.
“You’re cheating on me? We’re still married!
You’re so eager to be with another man?”
“Who says we’re married? Mark, did you not
see the divorce papers?”
“We’ve been divorced for a year.”
He was stunned. The hospital papers flashed
in his mind. He’d thought it was
compensation.
く
Seeing his realization, I knew he remembered.
“So who I’m with is none of your business.”
“No, we can remarry. Come back to me.”
He pleaded: “I’m better now, my health is
good. We’ll remarry; I’ll be good to you.”
“Then we’ll have kids; I’ll be a good husband
and father.”
I was impatient: “And then what?”
“I get pregnant, your darling niece creates
another scene, manipulates me, and we both
die?”
He was speechless.
“Even if you got rid of Sarah, I wouldn’t go
back.”
“A man who takes medication to stay
faithful… how many lives do I have to
compete with his beloved?”
I left with Liam, leaving Mark alone, watching
our backs disappear.
He followed us for two weeks before leaving.

Ashley called; Sarah had caused trouble
again.
After my divorce, the Ultons started setting
Mark up.
They found a woman from a family equally or
more prominent. The Yoon family had a
divorced woman who was a good match for
Mark.
Sarah, somehow learning this, went crazy.
She escaped from the mental institution,
found the woman, and slashed her face.
“Bitch! I’ll ruin your face so you can’t marry!” The Yoons called the police. Sarah was sent
back.
Worse, Mark’s brother tried to protect her.
His wife was suspicious and investigated
Sarah’s background.
She discovered Mark had lied. Sarah wasn’t
from an orphanage; she was Mark’s brother’s
child with his ex–girlfriend.
<
The couple had died; he adopted Sarah, a
reminder of his lost love..
This disgusted his wife; she wanted a divorce.
Mark returned to handle this. He heard his
brother plead:
“Get Sarah back; she loves you most.”
The words once brought him joy; now they
were exhausting.
Why had things turned out this way?
If only Clara were here.
Ashley continued. Sarah was released; the
Ultons paid a price.
To prevent future incidents, and to save his
brother’s marriage, Mark found Sarah a
husband.
He was infamous, not for good reasons. He
was a notorious womanizer; his wives didn’t
live long.
Sarah, learning who he was, cried and
pleaded with Mark but he showed no
sympathy.
“Clara was right. You need discipline.”
“If we can’t, let someone else teach you.”
Sarah tried to escape, but her husband
caught and abused her.
After six months, she escaped again after a
sexual encounter.
She found Mark, stabbed him, and laughed.
“Uncle, you’ll never touch another woman.”
I smiled.
“She got what she deserved.”
