I carefully reviewed everything in my mind. No wonder during the six years of marriage, I always kept a distance from Parker. It was because, deep down, I harbored feelings for him that I hadn’t even recognized myself. Out of loyalty to my husband, I suppressed all possibilities of disloyalty.
But it seemed life wasn’t just about one choice.
Unknowingly, I drifted off to sleep and I didn’t wake up until late in the morning, the sun high in the sky.
Parker smiled and asked, “Miss Lanier you spent the night with me. Don’t you want to take responsibility?“.
I hesitated for a moment before carefully suggesting, “What if we tried dating?”

Parker smiled, standing up and walking over to the bedside table. He opened a drawer and pulled out a gift box. To my surprise, i was an exquisite diamond ring.X
With sincere eyes, he said, “Avery, I’ve wanted to
o say this for a long time, but never had the chance.”
My heart raced in my chest. Parker’s gaze held mine, full of tenderness.
“Will you marry me, Avery?”
I hesitated for a moment, then nodded.!!
Parker’s face lit up with excitement. He picked me up and hugged me tightly, saying that it was worth the wait, that his dream had finally
come true.

After I agreed to the proposal, Parker was overjoyed. He started planning everything, from custom–made invitations to a grand wedding for us, inviting our friends and relatives. But just when things were going smoothly, I ran into Asher again.
He was waiting for me early in the moming, blocking my car as I drove through.
“Avery, I need to talk to you,” he said.
I thought he wanted to discuss the division of assets, but to my shock, he suddenly rushed at me and kissed me forcefully.2
My face turned pale in an instant, and I pushed him away frantically. I even bit his lip in my struggle.
Only when Asher felt the pain did he release me, his face a picture of hurt!
“Avery, do you really not love me anymore?”
“Divorce wasn’t my choice,” he continued, “I don’t want to divorce you. We’ve been together for six years–how could we just end it like
I couldn’t help but scoff. “Mr. Hudson, we’re already divorced. Does it even matter what you say now?!
“Besides, your little childhood friend is already pregnant with your child. I suggest you act with some decency and take responsibility.” With that, I turned to walk away.
But Asher stopped me again. To my surprise, he suddenly knelt before me, tears in his eyes.
“Avery, that child isn’t mine.” His voice was full of desperation as he spoke the truth.
“Camilla, that scheming woman, she deliberately seduced me. Who knows how many men she’s been with on the side?”
“The timing doesn’t add up–the child’s not minel” Asher declared.X
“Avery, after being apart from you, I finally realized how much you mean to me. I can’t lose you. Please, come back to me,” he pleaded.
“I swear, if you return, I’ll never have anything to do with Camilla again.”
“I’ve already prepared our master bedroom. It’s ready for you to come back whenever you want…”
