“This one’s the most interesting. Specifically
designed to pierce the vampire’s nerve
endings. It won’t kill you, but the pain will be
amplified a hundredfold.‘
Jessica raised the needle, slowly piercing my
nail bed.
The pain was like an electric shock. I gritted
my teeth, refusing to make a sound.
“Quite resilient,‘
She sneered, picking up a special small knife.
“This knife is coated with holy water; the cuts
will continue to burn.”
She began to cut along my arm, small wounds.
forming a strange pattern.
Each cut precisely avoided vital areas,
maximizing the pain.
The flesh under my skin was corroded by holy
water, sizzling slightly, giving off a burning
smell.
“You know?”
<
Jessica cut, speaking softly.
“Ethan doesn’t care about you. He needs you
because you’re a test subject.”
“Once I become human again, you’ll be
worthless.”
I remained silent, but every cell in my body
screamed.
Seeing my lack of reaction, Jessica seemed
even angrier.
She put down the knife, picking up an antique
wooden box.
“This is a special preparation.”
She said softly, opening the box to reveal
silver powder inside.
“Pure silver powder. When melted and
injected into the veins, how does that feel?”
She poured the powder into a small crucible,
melting it over a fire, then drawing the
shimmering liquid into a syringe.
“Ethan doesn’t want you dead, but he didn’t
<
say you can’t suffer.”
Jessica smiled, pressing the needle against
my carotid artery.
Finally, I couldn’t control myself, letting out a
heart–wrenching scream.
Jessica watched my suffering with
satisfaction. “This is just the beginning,
Chloe.”
“Tell me, why isn’t Ethan’s blood working on
you?”
I gasped, my voice hoarse. “I didn’t do
anything.”
“Liar.”
She refilled the syringe. “If I don’t want to
live? I’ll help you.”
As she was about to inject again, the door.
burst open.
Ethan stood at the doorway, his face ashen.
“Enough.” His voice was low and dangerous.
Jessica immediately put down the syringe,
<
feigning. “Ethan, I was just trying to help
you get the truth.”
Ethan walked in, his gaze lingering on me.
My condition was ten times worse than when
he left; my body was near collapse.
The silver liquid in my veins made my whole
body convulse uncontrollably.
“You’ve gone too far,” Ethan said coldly to
Jessica.
Jessica pouted aggrievedly. “I just wanted to
help you…
“Get out.” Ethan cut her off, his voice as cold
as ice.
Jessica froze, unable to believe she was
being treated like this.
She looked at Ethan, then at me, finally
gritting her teeth and turning to leave the lab.
After the door closed; Ethan approached me.
“Still not going to tell the truth?”
I weakly closed my eyes.
<
“Good.” He raised his hand, gesturing to the
door.
The door opened again, my parents were
brought in.
Seeing them, my blood seemed to freeze.
“Dad! Mom!”
I croaked, struggling violently, the silver
restraints cutting deep into my flesh.
“Chloe, my child.”
My mother saw my state, tears streaming down her face. “What happened to you?”
Ethan chuckled. “Family reunion is over. Now,
Chloe, tell me what you did, otherwise…”
He suddenly pulled out a silver knife, pressing it against my father’s heart. “I’ll let him die
before your eyes.”
“No!”
I cried out, “Spare them, they know nothing!”
“Really?”
Ethan sneered, the knife piercing my father’s
<
“I advise you to be honest, or your father’s
life will end today.”
My father weakly raised his head. “Chloe,
don’t worry about us.
Then, he glared at Ethan. “Chloe saved you.
She sacrificed so much for you. How could
you…
“Sacrifice?”
Ethan repeated the word sarcastically. “What right does she have to talk about
sacrifice?”
“If it weren’t for her, Jessica wouldn’t have
become a vampire, and I wouldn’t be trapped
in this damned blood pact!”
“Blood pact…”
My father’s eyes flashed with understanding,
then deep sorrow. “Chloe, did you break the
blood pact?”
I opened my mouth to deny it, but it was too
Late
<
Ethan keenly caught my father’s reaction.
“What do you mean? Breaking the blood
pact? Is that even possible?”
My father was silent for a moment, then
sighed.
“Vampires can unilaterally break the blood
pact, but at the cost of their lives.”
“In one day, she will turn to ash.”
The lab fell silent.
Ethan abruptly turned to me, his eyes filled
with disbelief.
“Are you crazy? To get rid of me, you’d
rather die?”
I didn’t answer, but my silence was clear
enough.
“Is there a cure?”
