Chapter 14 Difficult to Please
But Margot was not too concerned. She did not care if Halsey lived or died in the future.
Halsey saw her gaze from the corner of his eye and paused. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, she looked away as if nothing had happened. Her clear eyes were filled with indifference towards him,
Halsey tightened his grip on the document in his hand as an inexplicable irritation surged chaotically within his chest.
The atmosphere in the car was extremely tense. But soon, they arrived at the family residence.
Margot got out of the car and waited for Halsey. She always remembered to keep up her pretense. Since she had lost her memory, she wouldn’t know where to go.
She absolutely could not reveal any flaws in front of Halsey. Otherwise, with his temper, she would not have an easy time. He probably wouldn’t agree to the divorce easily.
Halsey walked in with long strides. Margot followed him. When they entered the villa, they saw Jocelyn sitting on the sofa, Jdrinking coffee.
“Mom, why did you call us here?” Halsey asked.
Jocelyn placed her cup on the coffee table. She glanced at Margot and asked, “You said you lost your memory. How much have you forgotten?”
Margot sat on the sofa and said, “I don’t know any of you.
Jocelyn frowned. “And so you told Robin you didn’t want him?
Hearing this, Halsey’s sharp and cold eyes immediately looked at Margot. He couldn’t believe she said such things to Robin. I she crazy!
Jocelyn’s gaze was displeased too. They acted as if she had done something unatonable.
Margot found it funny. When she cared about them, they were dissatisfied in every aspect. Now that she refused to go along with them anymore, they were still not satisfied. They were very hard to please.
Margot’s expression did not change as she said calmly, “Although he’s my son, I don’t know who taught him. He doesn’t have any manners at all.
“His mother was hospitalized in a car accident, but he’s thinking about another woman and doesn’t care about his mother. Tell me, why would I want such a child? To make things difficult for myself?”
Jocelyn slammed her hand on the table in displeasure. “Margot, you’re too much! You’re Robin’s mother after all. He’s only five years old. Aren’t you afraid of hurting him by saying such things to him?”
Halsey’s expression also turned cold. “How can you tell him you don’t want him for such a small matter? Margot, you’ve gone
too far.
Even if Margot had lost her memory, Robin was her son. She doted on him very much. Halsey was u upset that she had said such things.
Margot nearly lost control of the facade she was maintaining. She scoffed inwardly. A small matter! Such a small matter happens every time Robin returns. He is extremely indifferent to me as his mother.
At such a young age, Robin was cold and indifferent, showing Margot no respect whatsoever. He didn’t rely on her at all, and he despised her for giving orders, thinking that her role as a full–time housewife was shameful.
Margot had once passed by the study and heard the conversation between Halsey and Robin
Robin had asked, “Dad, why is Mom home all day? My classmates‘ parents are both out working. They’re all very capable. I think it’s not good for Mom to be like this,”
Halsey answered, “Since she married me, she naturally doesn’t have to do anything else.”
Robin’s childish voice became even colder. “But she doesn’t have any sense of self at all. I feel a little embarrassed to have such a mother like her?
“Alright, go and study Halsey did not reprimand Robin for his words. He had only told Robin to go and study.
Margot had stood at the door and was dumbfounded when she heard that. Her heart ached even more.
