Chapter 9
“Just because you apologize, does that mean I have to accept it?”
I asked, and Aldric fell silent.
We were standing outside the dorm, with wolves from various packs passing by. Though most didn’t know what had happened, that didn’t stop them from gathering to watch the scene.
I’ve always disliked being made the center of attention, and at that moment, I was
is truly angry, letting all the thoughts I’d kept hidden pour out
“You keep saying you’ve tried to make up for what you didn’t give me by doting on Vivienne, but why? I’m the one who’s been wronged, and she’s the one benefiting! When we were in the pack, you always hated me for causing a fuss, for fighting with Vivienne, for having a bad temper. But did you ever think that if I didn’t make a fuss, no one would care about the?”
I continued.
“In the pack, I was less happy than I was at Grandpa and Grandma’s. Because they truly loved me, truly cared for me. Even though the conditions in the swamp weren’t great, we fished every day, sat by the shore to watch the sunset. Because they loved me, I was happy. Though, I still missed you Did you ever think of me?”
“I’ve finally come back to the pack, but you don’t love me. I found my mate, but he loves the position of Alpha more than me, because Vivienne, the pack Alpha’s favored little sister, has a better chance of becoming Alpha herself! Now I’m leaving, keeping my distance from you. Es that too much to ask?” Mom had already crying-
“Lu, but you’re our daughter! How can you just cut ties with us?”
“I’d rather not be your daughter.”
After I said those words, I turned and went upstairs, not even loolding back at my family, who had collapsed in tears.
Maybe that was too powerful, because for a while after, they didn’t come to bother me. Occasionally, I would find fruits, vegetables, and various foods outside my apartment door.
I guessed it was either my family or Julian who had asked my classmates to leave them for me.
But I never accepted them. I would just turn and give them to the others in the building
Near the end of my final training, a huge scandal broke in my old pack.
When I received a message from a friend, I found out that the main character in it was Vivienne, my long–lost younger sister.
It turned out that after Vivienne left the pack to study outside, she quickly abandoned the piano and her so–called band, and everything she had claimed about being, favored by the Luma turned out to be false
She hadn’t learned a single useful thing, but she had learned how to live a promiscuous life, and ended up contracting an unspeakable disease.
Worse
e still, at a party, she got involved with the wrong crowd. To get her family to send her money, she lied about being sick.
Her parents, worried sick about her, went to visit and caught her red–handed.
Vivienne, probably high, angrily confronted them.
“Wasn’t I your favorite? Why are you giving money to that bitch, Luciana? If you hadn’t stopped giving me money, I wouldn’t have had to be!”
In the midst of the argume, she picked up a knife and stabbed Aldric.
Aldric survived, but his health was permanently damaged. The pack was thrown into chaos due to the injury of the Alpha
Mom and Dad called it a cursed house, cut off Viviane’s allowance, and kicked her out of the pack.
With no money, Vivienne spiraled even further down, spreading the disease to others, hanging around the pack, hoping to find someone to take her in
By pure coincidence, she chose Julian as her next victi
Although Julian claimed he loved mo, he didn’t turn away the girl that came knocking at his door.
Soon enough, he was infected
Julian couldn’t bear to see himself ruined, so he took out his anger on Vivienne, cutting her down.
Stabbed Slashed. One dead, one crippled and in prison.
