“That’s impossible…” Paxton muttered, his eyes dazed.
Sam loosened his grip and immediately sent people to search the coastline. “Find out the truth. I need to know everything.”
Snapping out of his daze, Paxton finally realized they had to uncover the entire story.
Even though both men knew the chances of finding me were slim, they still clung to hope. However, in the end, neither the Bennetts‘ nor Gibsons‘ search teams found me.
At the same time, the truth Paxton had demanded was delivered right to his desk. Georgina may have done a good job covering her tracks, but against the overwhelming power of the Bennett and Gibson families, nothing stayed hidden for long.
In Gibson Corporation’s office, the two men had gone through all the evidence. Paxton’s eyes were bloodshot, and he clenched his fists tightly, struggling to keep his composure until he lost it.
The next second, the teacup on the table shattered as he slammed it against the ground.
Sam watched him coldly. “This is how you took care of her? She was your girlfriend. You didn’t cherish her, so she chose to jump-”
Before he could finish, a punch landed on his face. Paxton swung his fist so hard that it split Sam’s lip.

“What right do you have to lecture me, Sam? Weren’t you the one who used her as a stand–in until she found out the truth?”
Sam’s eyes darkened. He opened his mouth to argue but had no words to refute it.
“You’ve fallen in love with Leah.”
Sam looked up, his gaze filled with mockery at Paxton and himself.
Silence filled the office. That night, all the answers became painfully clear.
Eventually, Georgina was captured.
“Pax! Pax!”
Dragged in front of Paxton, she desperately called his name. However, all she got in return was his icy, emotionless stare.
A shiver ran down her spine. Something was wrong.
Paxton’s assistant kicked her in the back of the knee, and she collapsed onto the floor. Then, Paxton towered over her, his eyes
devoid of warmth. He suddenly leaned down, gripping her chin tightly.
“Georgina, you’re evil. You knew Leah was your biological sister. Why did you want her dead?”
Georgina, frozen for a moment, let out a cold laugh. “Why? You’re asking me why? Well then, let me ask you this. Why did you all
insist on keeping Leah alive? Don’t tell me it was for my sake. There were plenty of people who could be a heart donor for me.
Why did it have to be Leah?
“Why else, Paxton? It’s because you love Leah.”
Paxton couldn’t deny it. Everything Georgina said was true.
“But I was the one who grew up with you!” Georgina’s voice cracked. “Why did Leah get to take everything from me just because
of her face? You all loved me first!”
