Chapter 5
If she was just jealous, he could sweet–talk her since she was his wife.
Logan’s assistant instantly started the
right after receiving Logan’s phone call. Five minutes later, Logan received news that Ivy
had not gone to Colf Valley at all.
Logan clenched his phone in his hands with a gloomy expression.
Henry and Andrew saw Logan off as the latter left the bar in a serious state.
“One’s actions always bring consequences. This jerk is finally getting his karma.” Henry laughed as he watched Logan leave.
Logan called Ivy more than ten times in the car,
but
very single call got disconnected.
He took a deep breath and sent Ivy a text. [You should clarify things with me and not leave me hanging, right?]
He then wrote another one, [I’ll be waiting for you at Marada Street!
Ivy saw the text and laughed out loud. She dropped her act and replied, [I’m not going, it’s too late.]
Logan pursed his lips, his slender fingers typing only two words as his response, [Come here.]
Ivy wanted to beat him up to soothe her anger. “What’s with his attitude?”
She blocked his number and deleted him in one go.
There were no replies from Ivy even after Logan waited for a minute. He then sent her another text, but the message could not be delivered.
Logan tossed his phone onto the car seat next to him and leaned back in his own seat in silence.
He was not sure whether Ivy was upset with him about the well–behaved and meek.
gossip surrounding him, but his impression of Ivy was that she had been
to beli
that Ivy did not love him anymore.
“Impossible, people don’t just change like that.” Logan refuse
Not having to pretend to be pure and proper anymore since her “acting career” had ended, Ivy changed into a red sundress and topped it off with a veil coat before she went out.
Right after she finished shopping, she bumped into her ex–husband outside the mall.
“Yes, my ex–husband.” Ivy was delighted to be able to address Logan that way.
Logan was not expecting to see her there, and he could not believe the change from her usual style. The foxy dress she wore revealed both her shoulders. Despite being covered by a veil coat, her small shoulders could still be vaguely seen.
She had become even more gorgeous.
Logan could not help but frown, while Ivy calmly smiled
“Ivy.” Logan walked toward her and held her hand.
at him.
Ivy did not shake off his hand. She thought that since they were already divorced, they could still be friends instead of ending things on a stalemate.
Seeing her smile, Logan was suddenly in good spirits, and his expression became gentle
“Ivy, why are you dressed up like this?” The moment Logan spoke, Ivy regretted it.
“I take back what I said. It’s impossible for us to be friends!” she thought.
Ivy had an annoyed look on her face, and she broke away from his hand.
“Ivy?” Logan did not know what he did wrong, “Why did her expression suddenly change?” he wondered.

Chapter 5
He stared blankly at Ivy with his hand in the air.
“It’s none of your business.” Ivy looked directly at Logan with a scowl, not afraid of his gaze.
“People would have the hots for you and cause you trouble,” Logan calmly explained.
When she heard his explanation, she initially thought that he was right. The first half of his statement was valid, but when she heard the second half of the sentence, she got offended.
She felt as though he was telling her that she was embarrassing him for dressing up like this.
“The troubles that they’re gonna cause will be mine, it’s none of your business,” Ivy mocked him.
Logan paused and stared at his wife, whom he had spent his three years with, as she stood in front of him. “She has never said anything like that and never made such an expression before,” he thought.
“Anything else? If not, I’ll get going.”
Logan grabbed her wrist and asked with a sullen face, “Get going? Where? You’re my wife, aren’t you supposed to come back with me?”
Logan’s grip was not as tight, so Ivy did not have a hard time breaking free from his grasp. She could even break him with her current strength.
“I’m going home, of course.”
Logan’s eyes dimmed. “Do you still remember what you said to me?”
“Nope.” Ivy shrugged. She simply did not care about him.
Logan clenched his jaw. “Fine, in that case, I’ll help you recall. You said that you would be with me when I got discharged on the tenth day, but you broke our promise.”
What he actually wanted to say was that they should be remarried on the tenth day yet she had broken that promise.
Yet, he just could not bring himself to say that to her.
Ivy sighed. “You see, after I noticed how caring other people’s husbands were, I broadened my horizons. I realized that my husband isn’t as good, so-”
Before Ivy could finish, Logan interrupted her while he grabbed her wrist tightly, “You still want to lie to me? You weren’t even at Colf Valley!”
Ivy was at a loss for words. “I’ve been exposed,” she thought.
She then put her hand on her hip and confidently said, “Fine, I wasn’t there.”
“So what? It’s not like he’ll hurt me if I admit it,” she thought to herself and put up a brave front.
Logan felt his chest becoming stuff like he was not able to catch his breath.
“President Clarke, I’ve gotten your item,” Logan’s assistant, Oliver Grant, said as he walked over to Logan in the mall.
Ivy turned to Oliver and saw him with a bag of luxurious jewelry in his hand.
When Oliver saw Ivy, he smiled and greeted her, “Hello, Madam.”
He then clarified to Ivy, afraid that she would misunderstand that the items were for others, “President Clarke requested that I prepare this gift for you.”
Ivy smirked. She broke loose from Logan’s grasp and slowly said, “How half–hearted can you get, President Clarke?”
Ivy felt that Logan was being even more insensitive. Since he liked well–behaved and meek women, she had reluctantly put on the act for him and treated him well for three years.
In the end, not only did he let slip his affair with the woman he loved and embarrassed her, she even had to take care of him when he was hospitalized.

Chapter 5
When buying gifts for Stella, he would hand–pick them for her, but when it came to Ivy, he would get his assistant’s help to select them for him.
“Why can’t this jerk just drop dead?” she thought.
Oliver seemed to understand something and quickly stepped aside after he handed Logan the gift.
Logan knew that he was in the wrong, and he passed the gift to Ivy patiently.
“You think I care about your gifts? Do you think I can’t afford them? Do you think that giving gifts will solve all problems? Please note that I grew up with more knowledge than those women you’ve come to know.
“Giving me millions of dollars won’t make me happy. Are you clear, you idiot?” Ivy snorted lightly.
Logan pursed his lips. “I don’t like you being this way.”
“Ives, let’s go home.” Skylar suddenly spoke, waving at Ivy with his car keys.
At some point, Skylar had started to listen in on their conversation from the side.
Jvy Ivy ignored Logan and walked past him. She then sat in the passenger seat of Skylar’s car.
Skylar glanced at Logan and walked to the trunk of his car. He took out a sledgehammer and smashed the sportscar that Ivy had driven there.
“There’s no need for her to keep what’s bad. Giving her millions of dollars won’t make her happy since she’s not your little lover, who gets extremely happy whenever you give her stuff.”
