I arrive at the hospital, and there’s not much work. It’s one of those quiet days, so I head to my office to study a bit. I’ve been learning about new grafting techniques for third–degree burn patients. I finished reading a clinical study, but I must admit I couldn’t grasp much due to my lack of concentration. The image of Annie and my son won’t leave my mind. I want to ask her for the photographs she showed me. In them, the beauty she exudes is almost ethereal. I can’t believe she truly looks like an angel, just like our baby’s name.
close my computer and recline in my chair with my eyes shut. The weight of my mistakes won’t let me rest. I don’t understand why they allow the leech to be in that house and take so many liberties. Could it be that Annie accepted him and they just haven’t made it official? This guy intrigues me. Who the hell is he? Where did he come from? All these questions are burning in my mind.
I decide to step out for some air and take a stroll around the hospital. I reach the cafeteria, which is still open, to order a black coffee without sugar. Lately, I haven’t been resting well, and if I fall asleep, I’ll struggle to wake up and be fully alert.
I sit at one of the tables, my face down, looking at my phone, when I sense someone standing in front of me. I look up and grimace at who it is.
“Why the face, Doctor Sexy? Aren’t we friends anymore?” Dr. Stevens is a colleague with whom, in a moment of weakness, I had a fling. When I was separated from Maria, and she asked me to forget her. The first time I went to look for her, she rejected me, and in my frustration, it seemed easy to bring this woman to my bed. But now I completely regret it. She was one of those who started speaking ill of Annie when the wedding incident occurred. Since then, I’ve avoided her like the plague.
“I don’t know what face you’re talking about, doctor, and no, we’re not friends,” I say curtly, hoping she’ll understand I don’t wish for her to sit and chat as if we had a great friendship.
“Hahaha. So it’s true that for you, ‘gentlemen have no memory, hahaha. Although I wouldn’t mind if you remembered how well we spent that night. Or have you forgotten?” I start to tense up because I don’t feel comfortable with her. She’s a bad person, and I’ve proven it.
“Well, don’t be angry, doctor. I was just trying to socialize. Do you know the latest news?” I try not to look at her, hoping she’ll leave.
“No, I don’t know what news, and I’m not interested in hallway gossip,” I reply in a harsh tone.
“Hahaha. Come on, doctor, don’t be bitter. Let me tell you.” I’m about to stand up when what she says catches my attention. “They say Dr. Donovan returned from her medical mission early, and she didn’t come back alone; she arrived pregnant and with a new boyfriend.” I stay in my seat because I’m interested in knowing what rumors are circulating about my butterfly.
“Oh really? I’m not aware.” As if that were a trigger, she starts talking non–stop about the supposed revelations about Annie she had discovered.
“And lastly, we know from a reliable source that soon the famous father of the doctor’s child will join our group of medical specialists. He’s a very handsome, young guy, like you. Son of two great Canadian eminences who run a large hospital in Ontario. However, he comes specifically recommended by his

“Well, I suppose he’ll be welcome. And now I’ll leave you, as I have some do.” I stand up to leave, but before I go, I turn to look at her. “Dr. Stevens, what’s the supposed boyfriend of Dr. Donovan’s name?” I see the excitement on her face at having caught my attention, so she responds enthusiastically.
“His name is Aaron Jordan Richmond. You can easily find a lot of information about his family online.” She smiles at me, and I nod before leaving.
So, Aaron Jordan. Let’s see if you have any skeletons in your closet.

“Are you sure we can have a party at your house? Won’t your husband come and kick us out?” my friend
Sunny asks while I hold a drink.
I haven’t wanted to tell her that my beloved “husband” left me. I want everything to remain a secret for a
while.
“Don’t worry. I talked to him, and he agreed. He’ll be on duty for forty–eight hours, so he won’t be back until the day after tomorrow,” I say with conviction, although I know very well he won’t return.
“Well, then let’s have fun!” I smile at her. I know she’s only with me because she can attract handsome guys by my side. She’s so plain that she can’t attract even flies on her own.
The guests start arriving, and soon the party is in full swing. I decide to forget everything tonight and enjoy dancing and drinking.
I notice that as I move to the rhythm of the music, someone positions themselves behind me and presses thair body against mine. I turn around to see who it is.
“Hello, beautiful. I’ve been wanting to dance like this with you.” The same i***t as always, trying to get me into bed. He doesn’t understand that I want nothing with him, so I ignore him and move away to find a group to
join for a chat.

As the night progresses, everyone starts leaving. I see the mess left behind, but I don’t plan to pick up single glass now. Tomorrow, I’ll call the cleaning service to make everything spotless. I’m very tired, and when the last guest leaves, I close the door with relief.
I walk to the bedroom and undress completely. I turn on the shower and check that it’s pleasantly warm. When I’m convinced of the temperature, I take a step to get in, but suddenly, someone pulls me back. turn and see with horror that it’s the damn obsessive i***t.
“Hello, darling. I imagined you felt very lonely, so I stayed to keep you company.” I open my eyes in horror. He drags me to the bedroom, trying to throw me onto the bed. I fight back, but he’s a man and stronger. With one hand, he grabs me, and with the other, he starts touching me. Tears fill my eyes. I don’t want to be violated in my own home. I must calm down and pretend to cooperate. I scan the room for something to defend myself with, and when I find something. I pretend to go along with him.
“Why did you stay? I’didn’t give you permission,” I say flirtatiously, trying to gain his trust. It seems to be working because he loosens his grip.

“I thought you might not agree, but it seems you do want to be with me, don’t you?” I look at him and nod.
This prompts him to start kissing me while touching my breasts.

When he least expects it, I take the lamp and strike his head with a strong blow.
“Aaaaagghh!! Damn you.” I see the blood starting to flow down his face. Fear begins to invade my body. If he dies here, I’ll go to jail. The man faints and falls to the floor. I start trembling and don’t know what to do. If I call Liam, he most likely won’t answer. I start crying, but suddenly, I take my phone and call Albert.
The phone rings twice. We parted with a fight, but I hope he doesn’t ignore me.
“Hello?” he says, and I start crying uncontrollably.
“Albert! Help!” I scream desperately. “Someone tried to assault me in my house, and I hit him. I think I might
have killed him.”
He says nothing, and soon there’s no sound on the phone.
About twenty minutes later, there’s a knock at the door, and I run out of the bedroom. When I see it’s my lover
I don’t hesitate and throw myself into his arms.
“Albert! You came!” He nods, and I start crying desperately.
“Where is he?” he asks, and I guide him. The house is a mess, and he might not believe someone tried to force me. “I’ll take care of everything, but you can’t stay here. Maybe you should call your husband.”
I shake my head. That’s not possible. I didn’t want to tell him yet, but I have no choice.
“I,separated from him. That’s why I threw a party. He hated them.” His face doesn’t show whether he’s happy or not with the news. He just remains serious. He seems to be analyzing what we’ll do next.
“Okay, then you’ll go to my house. Pack a small bag with your things.” I nod and quickly do as he says. When- I’m ready, I see other men have arrived.
“Let’s go, they’ll take care of cleaning everything up. The guy isn’t dead, but we’ll take him to get treated, and when he’s conscious, we’ll talk to him to make him forget everything.” I just nod. He takes my hand, and I follow him. I’m leaving here, and I don’t know when I’ll return.
“Thank you, Albert,” I say sincerely. He squeezes my hand and takes me with him.
