An overwhelming fear enveloped me as I frantically fumbled for my phone with trembling hands. My wolf whimpered beneath my skin as I dialed the emergency line for the Silvercrest Pack Medical Den
“Emergency services, this is Dr. Harrison Fletcher speaking”
“Doctor, this is Victoria Frost. Emma is dying!” My voice cracked with desperation. “We’re at Moonlight Manor. She has a high fever and she’s unconscious. Please hurry!”

a medical transport immediately. Keep her warm and monitor her breathing.”
I hung up and lowered my gaze to the limp girl in my arms. Her face was pale as moonlight, lips tinged blue from the cold.
“Emma, hold on, You mustn’t have anything happen to you, do you hear mo!” I patted her face gently but urgently.
Though Emma heard my plea, she was too weak to reply. Her consciousness was fading as her wolf retreated deeper within her weakened body.
While waiting for the medical transport, I desperately pounded on the reinforced doors of Moonlight Manor. The sound echoed through the empty courtyard like gunshots.
