“Old man, open your eyes and see.”
Jasper threw a stack of paternity tests onto Declan’s paralyzed face.
Declan trembled as he opened the paternity tests.
“Take a good look, Lydia is not your daughter.”
Declan’s eyes widened, and he couldn’t manage a complete word, only managing an “ah ah ah.”
in just a few seconds, his eyes rolled back, and he closed his eyes.
The persistent beep echoed in Jasper’s ears. He hadn’t expected Declan to be so enraged that he died.
Compared to dealing with family entanglements, he couldn’t bear the thought that his beloved mistress had been unfaithful
from the start.
Jasper’s eyes were slightly wet. He had finally avenged his mother.
Yet his heart was filled with endless loneliness.
His vague regret over the past five years had reached its peak in the days since I left.
He returned home and turned on the surveillance.
The people he had sent out hadn’t found any trace of me, so he hoped to feel my presence through past photos, videos, and surveillance footage.
Accidentally, he clicked on the surveillance from the day I fell down the stairs.
He saw himself walking away resolutely, holding another woman’s hand, as the blood beneath me slowly spread.
<
Jasper’s heart twisted suddenly. He remembered my words from that day.
He quickly rewound the surveillance footage.
The surveillance clearly recorded Keira throwing the jade pendant, and when I tried to retrieve it, she maliciously pushed me
down.
Jasper lowered his eyes, endless regret and guilt threatening to overwhelm him.
“Lydia, how much pain were you in then? I’m sorry…“”
But no amount of sincere remorse would get a response now.
Jasper suddenly jumped up from the office chair, hurriedly running downstairs, desperately searching for the jade pendant at
the stairwell.
“Jasper, what are you looking for?”
Although Keira hadn’t managed to marry Jasper, she still remembered that she was the one Jasper loved.
As soon as she returned, she assumed the role of the lady of the house, though she hadn’t succeeded in moving into the master bedroom yet.
Jasper saw her, his eyes turning cold. He grabbed Keira by the collar.
“You pushed Lydia down the stairs that day, didn’t you?”
“Jasper, I didn’t. Lydia set me up; you know she and her mom always used such tactics to frame others.”
“Slap!”
Jasper slapped Keira hard, making her see stars.
“I saw it all on the surveillance, and you still want to argue!”
“I only took care of you because your family saved my mom. I didn’t expect you to take advantage. Where’s the jade pendant?”
Keira had never seen Jasper like this. Terrified, she begged for mercy while kneeling to search.
“It was my fault! I was momentarily possessed that day. The jade pendant… the jade pendant… the jade pendant is here!”
Jasper seized the jade pendant, cradling it like a lost treasure.
Then his face darkened as he turned to Keira and said:
“Take your things and get out of here right now!”
Keira was terrified, hurriedly packing her things and leaving.
Jasper held the jade pendant, sliding down the wall in a daze.
He regretted it so much. It was Keira who had stolen the jade pendant that day. He had only pretended to say he gave it to provoke me.
At that moment, the phone rang.

“Mr. Jasper, we’ve found Miss Lydia’s whereabouts!”
Jasper immediately stood up in surprise.
“Quick, book me the earliest flight!”
