Chapter 6
I looked at them both coldly. “If it’s not what it looks like, then what is it exactly?” Dominic always claimed he saw Faye as a sister, that he just felt sorry for her. But who hugs their “sister” like that? Who abandons their girlfriend in the middle of
the night to be with her?
It was all just an excuse he made up to justify his relationship with Faye. This way, he could care for her with a clear conscience while accusing me of being overly
sensitive and unreasonable whenever I objected.
My cold tone left Dominic speechless. He stepped forward to grab my hand, but I moved away.
I walked directly to Faye. “Give me back my things.”
I’d come here just to retrieve my jewelry. The dress she was wearing–she could keep that trash.
Faye’s face turned pale. Her eyes quickly filled with tears as she looked at me pitifully. “I’m so sorry, Sienna. I didn’t mean to take your things. Dominic said he
wanted to gift me a set, so I…”
She clearly didn’t want to return them. Of course not–she was a poor scholarship student who could only attend this university because of Dominic’s financial
support.
But I wasn’t going to pity her. I grabbed Faye’s arm, my voice turning to ice. “I said, give my things back to me!”
Faye immediately looked to Dominic. “Dominic…”
His protective instincts kicked in instantly. He pushed me away and sheltered Faye behind him, his tone accusatory. “It’s just jewelry. Can’t you speak civilly?”
I stared directly into Dominic’s eyes without saying a word.
My stare made him uncomfortable. He knew how much I treasured that jewelry set. When he’d given it to Faye, he probably never expected me to come home
suddenly.
He pressed his lips together tightly, then turned to Faye. “Faye, give the jewelry back to Sienna. I’ll buy you a new set later.”
Faye looked reluctant, but her image in front of Dominic had always been the

fragile, obedient junior. So despite her obvious unwillingness, she removed the jewelry and handed it to me–though as she did, she “accidentally” let it slip. If I hadn’t reacted quickly, the necklace would have crashed to the floor. Faye’s voice was as weak as her name suggested, like a frightened rabbit. “I’m so sorry, Sienna. I didn’t hold it properly. It was an accident.”
I secured my belongings and gave her a cold smile. “Is that so? Well, be more careful in the future. If you had damaged anything, you couldn’t afford to replace
it even if you sold everything you own.”
My words nearly made Faye cry again. Dominic frowned deeply. “Are you finished?
She’s already given everything back. Why are you still bullying her?”
“Enough drama. I’m taking Faye home first, then I’ll come back for you.”
With that, Dominic left with Faye.
They looked exactly like an intimate couple.
Dominic expected me to wait for him like I always had.
But this time, he was wrong.
I quickly returned home alone. After days in the hospital, all I wanted was to sleep.
I slept straight through until evening. The moon hung high in the dark sky, stars twinkling brightly.
It was rare for me to sleep so peacefully. As I was heading to the living room to take my medicine, Dominic stormed in, his face dark with anger. His first words were accusatory: “Didn’t I tell you to wait for me?!”
I looked at him, my voice flat. “Dominic, I went looking for you this morning.”
It was already evening now.
Dominic’s expression froze, then softened slightly. “Faye needed help with her paper, so I gave her some guidance. But why didn’t you tell me you were coming
home alone?”
Even when it was clearly his fault, he still blamed me.
I didn’t respond, moving past him toward the bedroom.
That afternoon, my professor had called again. My departure date was set for one

week from now.
Seven days–enough time to wrap up everything here.
