Chapter11
Yesenia called Ramiro.
He was surprised to receive her call and bragged, “Boss, do you like my birthday gift a lot?”
Yesenia gave a meaningful chuckle. “Yeah, can’t like it better.”
She couldn’t like it better?
Ramiro was beside himself.
He grinned triumphantly when Yesenia asked, “All those designs came from submissions?”
Ramiro replied, “Yeah, I had them collected under GeekFlux Group’s name. The screening has been done. The drafts you received were chosen through two rounds of reviewing. Your assistant has to be the best, not just any random guy.”
Although he had no idea about fashion design, Ramiro was Yesenia’s ride–or–die fanboy and thought she excelled at everything.
He had to find the assistant worthy of Yesenia.
Yesenia sent Ramiro a screenshot. “Look into this person.”
Ramiro tapped it open and said proudly, “I like her designs at one glance. She’s Eliza. Boss, do you like her designs too?”
Yesenia said quietly, “Her drafts are all mine.”
Ramiro was taken aback. “What?”
“When I returned to Mosley’s mansion, I took a sketchbook, on which there were old drafts. When I was bored, I made new drafts there. The designs submitted by Eliza were from my sketchbook.”
She had been looking for it last night but in vain, not knowing when she had lost it. Now, it seemed fate had delivered the thief right to her doorstep.
A shadow flashed across Yesenia’s eyes. Her intuition told her it was not that simple.
Ramiro didn’t respond, but Yesenia heard the forceful typing on the keyboard through the phone.
She knew he was angry.
Ramiro soon spat out the answer, his voice dripping with resentment,
“Boss, you’ll never guess who Eliza is.”
Yesenia said calmly, “It’s Sylvia.”
“Wow, Boss, how do you know? It’s like you can see my screen.”
“The sketchbook went missing at Mosley’s mansion, and only she dared to submit the designs blatantly.”
After donating a kidney in her previous life, Yesenia was in poor condition and recuperated at home.
Due to the Mosley family’s control with the excuse of for her own good, she rarely paid attention to the outside world. One day, she just heard the family throwing a party downstairs and celebrating something.
Yesenia stood at the staircase and heard the conversation.

“Sylvia, how can you hide such big news from your own brothers?”
“Yeah. Not only did she secretly become the star designer of GeekFlux Group, but she also won the Global Plume New Talent Award, at
lifetime achievement for most designers!”
“And here I am, the brother of the star designer, still waiting for my
custom outfit.”
“Vicente, I’d design for everyone if I could, but I’m too busy. Each draft takes several all–nighters to finish.”
“All–nighters? You can’t do that. You’ve had a kidney transplant for less than six months. You gotta rest well.”
Sylvia giggled. “I got it. Gilberto.”
Listening to the happy laughter downstairs, Yesenia clutched her shawl tightly and slowly turned around, heading back to her room with blank eyes.
Ramiro’s furious voice pulled Yesenia back to the present. “That shameless copycat stole your family and status. Now, she even stole your designs. Isn’t she afraid of being exposed and embarrassed?”
Yesenia’s face darkened.
Indeed, the submissions happened before last night when she was reborn and cut ties with the Mosley family.
Even if she’d stayed there, these stolen designs would inevitably show up in public, and she’d discover that.
It was bold of Sylvia to do that.
Yesenia was certain the awards Sylvia won in her previous life were built on the stolen designs.
Did Sylvia steal her designs openly just because of the Mosley family’s affection for her?
Or Sylvia knew she wouldn’t have the chance to find out?
A dark realization crept into Yesenia’s mind. her face turning grave and serious.
“Boss?”
“I’m listening.”
“Boss, don’t be angry. I’ll go to see her…”
“What for? Will she admit it?”
“The evidence is solid. She has to admit it.”
“Even if exposed, she’ll just shed a few tears and play the victim. The Mosley family will forgive her. What will Sylvia ever lose? What punishment will she take?”
Last night alone, the Mosley family lost fifty million dollars, while Sylvia only shed a few tears. It was not enough.
“Damn it.” Ramiro cursed. “Boss, Will you just leave her alone?”
“Didn’t I say I’d destroy the Mosley family’s glory? I’ll start from this.”
There was undisguised mockery in Yesenia’s eyes. “Doesn’t she enjoy stealing? Let her steal to her heart’s content.”
***
The Mosley family was shrouded in ominous darkness.
“What the hell! GeekFlux Group is a massive corporation. How could
it flip on us overnight? That bastard Ramiro must be holding some grudge against us and tantalizing us.”
Vicente paced up and down in the living room and cursed.
Cayden, who had been riding high since becoming the CEO of the Mosley Group, now looked like he’d swallowed a fly.
GeekFlux Group was a rapidly rising star in high–tech industries with too many cutting–edge technologies and resources. It was at least ten years ahead of current domestic markets.
Securing this partnership would’ve doubled the Mosley Group’s scale. and profits. Moreover, they had arranged follow–up partnerships and suppliers to get a free ride on GeekFlux’s coattails.
Now that the deal was called off, not only were all previous efforts. wasted, but it felt like losing something within reach. Even their stock. prices took a hit. How could anyone withstand this chain of disasters?
What baffled Cayden most was the change in Ramiro’s attitude. A few days ago, Ramiro looked kind enough in the negotiation when they demanded more profits. Everything had seemed negotiable then.
How did he change overnight?
Vicente suddenly paused. “Is it because of Yesenia? Could that Maybach be Ramiro’s car?”
“No way,” Sylvia blurted out her retort subconsciously.
Under the family’s curious gaze, she softened her tone. “I believe Yesenia won’t do such a thing to kick us while we’re down…”
Vicente snorted. “That’s hard to say!!
“It can’t be Yesenia. She’s not so capable.” Cayden said, “Everyone
knows Ramiro is a man of integrity.”
“Then what’s into him then?”
As the Mosley family was at their wit’s end. Sylvia received a call in surprise. “GeekFlux Group? The day after tomorrow? Okay. Thanks.”
Hanging up, she found the whole family staring at her.
Barely containing her excitement, she said with a shy smile, “Last month GeekFlux Group announced Ramiro would set up a private fashion studio and was recruiting designers. I submitted some drafts. They said I passed the review and asked me to attend the final session.”
“That jerk is not trustworthy. Sylvia, don’t go,” said Vincenter indignantly.
Theresa said, “Sylvia must go. Since we can’t reach Ramiro, this is our chance. Cayden, don’t miss it.”
Cayden nodded. “Okay.”
Theresa breathed a sigh of relief. “Sylvia is truly our treasure. None of you can rival her.”
Belinda said affectionately, “Sylvia is saving us all.”
Sylvia smiled and felt like flying from their praise.
Without that eyesore Yesenia, she was destined for greatness.
