We had just gotten out of the car when he drifted across and blocked our path.
Howard climbed out of his car, his suit completely disheveled.
He stared intensely at the diamond ring on my hand with bloodshot eyes and said, “Ellie…”
Noah gently patted my hand and calmly said, “You should go home first. I’ll handle this.”
With that, Noah signaled for several bodyguards to escort me back to our wedding suite, while he firmly gripped Howard’s wrist.
Shortly after I returned to our suite, Noah pushed open the door.
I looked him up and down and noticed he didn’t have any marks on him.
Noah smirked proudly, “I have a black belt in Taekwondo, so someone else is the one who needed medical attention.”
My worry instantly vanished, and I couldn’t help but laugh.
However, on second thought, I felt guilty.
“I’m sorry about what happened today. I had already made things clear with him, but I never expected he would still…”

“Howard and I were together for so long. Do you regret marrying me?”
I had to admit that Howard’s harsh words had left me heartbroken.
Although I initially saw Noah as just a marriage partner, his every action had already silently integrated into my life.
Without realizing it, I had already started to see him as my true partner.
Noah looked into my eyes seriously and said, “If I had known this would make you unhappy, I would have married you even sooner.”
My face quickly turned red, and I instinctively closed my eyes, waiting for what was about to happen.
However, after waiting for a long time, Noah didn’t kiss me.
I peeked open my eyes and found Noah actually packing up his clothes, which left me confused.
“What are you doing?”
He just pressed his lips together and replied, “I’ll sleep in the guest room tonight. I don’t want to take advantage of you when you’re emotional. When you truly want to, I’ll come back.”
I couldn’t help but smile.
“If I didn’t want to, why would I marry you? This is our first day as newlyweds. Would you really leave me here alone?”

Noah stopped what he was doing. Then, I motioned for him to come over, and he smiled smugly as he kissed me.
The long night stretched on as we remained entangled until morning.
The next day, I felt sore all over. When I was about to get up, I noticed a man standing outside our window.
Howard had been staring at our window, still wearing yesterday’s suit, looking haggard.
Noah pulled me into his arms, his tone full of jealousy.
“He’s been standing there all night. Are you worried about him?”
I quickly kissed him and replied, “How could I be? It’s a good thing he’s just standing there without doing anything, otherwise we would have had to call the police.”
Just as we were talking, Stephanie suddenly appeared. She and Howard got into a heated argument, but Howard still refused to leave. Finally, Stephanie had security drag him away.
Noah didn’t ask if I still had feelings for Howard. Instead, he took care of me thoughtfully and told me to get up for breakfast.
I didn’t mention Howard again either, because I truly didn’t have any feelings for him anymore.
After breakfast, Noah asked if I would accompany him to Webster Manor to see his grandparents.
I nodded. Then, we drove to Webster Manor.

As soon as we arrived at the entrance, Noah’s grandparents came out to greet us.
Noah’s grandmother kept telling me that his grandfather couldn’t attend our wedding yesterday because of heart problems.
I quickly shook my head, indicating it was fine.
Afterward, Noah’s grandmother directly placed a jeweled bracelet on my wrist.
“This is my wedding gift to you. If Noah ever mistreats you, come to me anytime. I’ll help you teach him a lesson.”
