“You can’t escape me,” Killian whispered in my ear, I gasped as his breath grazed my temple, and I woke up with a stari, glancing around the dark room. Nothing. No one was there. I exhaled shakily, but the sensation of Killian’s touch lingered like a phantom on my skin. He was haunting my dreams, invading my thoughts, and consuming my waking moments.
It had been two days since we returned, and even though he wasn’t here, I couldn’t escape his gaze–the memory of it burned into my mind.
For two days, I followed my self–imposed curfew, enforced by the driver Adeline had appointed. He dutifully took me to and from college. watching my every move. I never stepped out of his sight. “Anderson!” A loud voice startled me
1 turned sharply to see a blond guy from my class striding toward me. I didn’t even know his name he sat in front of me sometimes, but we’d never spoken
“Can’t he keep his voice down?” I muntered under my breath, glaring at him..
“Anderson!” he called again, louder this time.
I groaned inwardly and pressed a finger to my lips. “Shut up, you idiot” I hissed as he finally approached.
He looked at me with curious, light blue eyes. “Why are you hiding!”
“Keep your voice down!” I whispered harshly: “What do you want?”
“The professor asked me to give you this.” He handed me a folded piece of paper.
Great, thanks. Now go!” I waved him off, glancing back outside nervously. “Killian hadn’t moved.
“Uh, okay.” the guy nuttered as he turned to leave, muttering something about me being “weird”
Then I noticed his hoodie. A plan formed instantly.
I grabbed the hood and yanked him back.
“What the fu—”
“Give me your hoodie!” I demanded
“What?” He blinked, une ly confused

I studied his bulky frame. His hoodie would detunely drown me, which was perfect

1 pulled out my phone.
“Cash,” he added snugly.
I glared at him. “I don’t have cash. Who even carries cash anymore?”
“No can do.” He started to walk away.
I grabbed his arm again. “Wait!”
“For something so small, you sure are strong,” he muttered.
Without a second thought. I yanked off my smartwatch and shoved it into his hand. “Is that enough”
He looked at it skeptically. This is worth like 4,000 bucks.”
“Good. Now give me your hoodie.
He hesitated. “Will will you come back to take it later?”

He reluctantly peeled off the hoodie and handed it over. I threw it on, pulling the hood over my head to hide my hair.
“Now disappear!” I ordered, and to my relief, he complied
I tied my red hair into a bun and tucked it securely under the hood, keeping my face down as I slipped into the staff building. This was the usual route 1 took to evade any watchful eyes,
The hallways were quiet as I approached the back door. But just as I reached for it, a hand shot out and yanked me into the emergency exit stairwell.

“Trained assassin,” he said smugly, his smirk as infuriating as ever. “You think anyone can escape me if I’m after them?”
“Just move!” I snapped, though my voice betrayed ine. My heart pounded in my chest, memories of his touch flooding back–his hands, his lips, his body against mine.
⠀⠀He tightened his grip slightly, leaning closer, his breath warm against any skin. “What’s your deal!” I demanded, my voice trembling.
“My deal is simple, darling, he murmured, his eyes dropping to my lips. “I want you”
I took a sharp breath, every nerve in my body on fire. The urge to push him away clashed with the desire to pull him closer
“You had me.” I whispered, trying to steady my voice. “It’s over. Move on”
He chuckled softly, the sound sending a sluver down my spine. “It’s never over between us”
Before I could respond, his lips brushed mane, tentative at first, then firmer as I kissed him back. My resolve crumbled as his tongue explored my mouth, his hands moving from my wrists to my waist, pulling me closer
