Chapter 29
Rosalie glanced at the item, then casually tossed it into her bag. “I’m not going.”
The young man’s lips curled up handsomely, his smile as dazzling as sunlight. “It’s okay. Just having the ticket is like you’re there cheering me on. Let’s go.”
Without another word, Rosalie put on the helmet, straddled the seat behind him, and naturally wrapped her arms around his waist.
The motorcycle’s engine roared to life, and with a burst of speed, they left the students of Hodgeson High School in a chorus of gasps and a cloud of dust.
From a distance, Tianna stood there, agape, still holding her phone that was recording the scene.
It wasn’t until the motorcycle vanished into the busy traffic that Tianna’s astonishment slowly transformed into delight.
Tianna wondered, ‘Rosalie actually got on the motorcycle and left with that guy. She seemed to have taken something from him. A roll of something? Could it be money?‘
Had Phoebe not been there, Tianna would have laughed until her sides ached. ‘Rosalie is really this naive. But why does the thug I had brought in look somewhat handsome? And the situation isn’t quite what I asked for, she thought.
However, she quickly brushed aside these minor doubts. As long as the desired effect was achieved, that was all that mattered. “Tomorrow, Rosalie definitely won’t dare to come back to school, she thought to herself.
Phoebe seemed to have just snapped back to reality, and she anxiously pressed Tianna. “Tianna, didn’t you say nothing would happen? Where did he have Rosalie taken?”
“I don’t know either.” Tianna feigned innocence. “I just had someone scare her a bit. I didn’t expect her to be so proactive, asking him for money and getting on his motorcycle.
“You saw it, the thug didn’t force her. Rosalie went with him willingly. It’s out of my control.”
“You’re really-” Phoebe stamped her foot in frustration. “Get her back now. If anything happens, you’re going to be in big trouble.”
་
Tianna nonchalantly curled her lip. ‘What does it have to do with me? I didn’t force Rosalie onto the motorcycle. And I have the video to prove what I’m saying, she wondered.
However, she decided to play along. “Phoebe, could you not tell your parents? I really didn’t expect things to turn out like this. I just wanted to scare her a bit.
“Once she got scared, I would have stepped in to save her. You know me. Besides, this kind of behavior is already illegal. You know, I won’t get myself in trouble, right?”
Phoebe took a deep breath. “Just get that guy to bring Rosalie back.”
Under her urging, Tianna took out her phone and pretended to make a call. She had no intention of actually dialing. She wasn’t about to let such a perfect opportunity slip away.
After about fifteen seconds, she put her phone down. “He’s probably still on the motorcycle, and he didn’t answer. So, what do we do now?”
Phoebe’s eyes lowered, her gaze slightly subdued. After a moment, she took her phone from her bag. “I’m going to call Mom. You keep trying.” “Okay,” Tianna agreed, but she still had no intention of making the call.
Tianna thought for a moment, then quietly switched her phone to airplane mode, so the thug wouldn’t ruin her plans by calling unexpectedly. Karen arrived at Hodgeson High School half an hour later, and as soon as she got out of the car, she rushed over, grabbing Phoebe and demanding, “Rosalie’s missing? What happened?”
Phoebe hadn’t gone into much detail over the phone. Karen was a woman of action, and as soon as she heard Rosalie was missing, she hung up and rushed to the school.
Phoebe was about to explain when Tianna gently tugged at her sleeve, winked at her, and gave her a pleading look.
Tianna’s message was clear. She didn’t want Phoebe to rat her out.
Phoebe pursed her lips, averted her gaze, and spoke in a low, husky voice. “Mom, here’s what happened.
“Tianna had trouble with a problem, and I was explaining it to her. I told Rosalie to get in the car and wait for ine. I came out a few minutes late. and I saw Rosalie get on a guy’s motorcycle.”

Upon realizing that Phoebe was willing to cover for her, Tianna’s spirits lifted, and she quickly chimed in, “That’s exactly what happened. Karen, lots of people saw it. Rosalie not only got on that guy’s bike but also took his money.”
Karen was so furious that she trembled all over, her face turning ashen. She shook with her fingers as she took out her phone, intending to call Rosalie.
“Mom, I’ve already tried calling Rosalie. She didn’t pick up,” Phoebe said softly.
While waiting for Karen to arrive, Phoebe had attempted to call Rosalie.
Karen said nothing, just listened to the beeping on the other end of the line until it automatically disconnected, still with no answer.
Rosalie had only been in school for two days. On the first day, they couldn’t reach her, and on the second day, she had simply gotten on a strange man’s motorcycle right at the school entrance.
Many people had seen it. The Spencer family’s reputation was in tatters.
Karen made several more calls, all of which went unanswered.
Phoebe’s face was pale, and she asked timidly, “Mom, what are we going to do?”
Karen was ablaze with anger, her eyes bloodshot and somewhat terrifying.
“How should I know what to do? She’s here just to cause trouble. If I had known she’d turn out this bad, I would never have taken her in,” Karen cursed, then noticed the scattered students on the roadside, staring at her with strange looks.
Those gazes felt like a bucket of ice water dumped over her head, chilling her to the bone.
‘No. These people don’t know that Rosalie is my biological daughter. I absolutely can’t let them know that Rosalie is my biological daughter.
‘I can’t possibly have a daughter who’s so shameless. I was just deceived into adopting a daughter, one who’s vulgar and immoral. It’s not my fault; it’s not my problem, Karen thought to herself.
“Let’s go home first,” Karen said, braving those piercing gazes as she hurriedly got into the car.
Rosalie followed the young man to Webston Hospital and took the private elevator to the top–floor VIP ward area.
As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they were immediately surrounded by a crowd of people outside.
“Edwin, you’ve brought her.
“Edwin, this is your cousin you’ve been praising?”
“She’s so beautiful.”
“Miss, nice to meet you.”
Edwin Hudson’s face darkened, and he quickly stepped in front of Rosalie, using his long arm to push back the most eager people. “Back off. Don’t
scare Risa.”
Someone argued discontentedly, “Rosalie, we really want to be friends with you. At the last Highsean regional round, our team took the top two spots. 1–I have points too.”
“You’ve had enough. Don’t interfere with Dr. Hudson’s work,” a voice suddenly cut in, authoritative and commanding. The next second, a middle- aged man strode over.
The moment he finished speaking, the crowd quickly stood at attention, hands behind their backs. “Got it, Mr. Stephen.”
