Chapter82
Evangeline thought she had done everything she could for
Bethany, reminding her of everything she needed to be
reminded of. If she still didn’t appreciate it, she could suffer on
her own.
Over there in Krista, I believe Grandfather will find a way.
After saying that, Evangeline left.
Bethany went to Emery’s ward.
The surgery was performed yesterday just before dawn. The
anesthesia wore off, and he might still be in
come pai
As he
slept, his little eyebrows furrowed into a frown.
She didn’t want to blame him.
But he was close to Krista, despising her for being mute, really
like a knife, stabbing her heart.
Bethany slept during the day and had no sleep at night, so she
stayed by Emery’s bedside.
Good morning.
Chapter 2
When Emery woke up, he saw Bethany sleeping by his bedside,
and he couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for her.
When he was sick before, he would open his eyes and see his
mother sleepily leaning against his bedside.
He also didn’t not love his mother, but his mother couldn’t
speak.
His classmates were all envious of him, admiring that his father
was the richest man in Rivermond, and they were very curious
that his mother must also be very outstanding.
Hei
just didn’t want others to know that his mother was mute.
“Mom…”
He called out softly.
Bethany heard Emery’s voice and immediately looked up.
Emery whispered, “Were you here all night?”
Bethany nodded.
She quickly took out her phone and typed a line in the software:
“Emery, are you hungry? Shall I go buy breakfast for you?”
Emery heard a beautiful female voice and saw Bethany

wearing the ring that her father had taken a picture of. He
immediately understood what was going on.
The sound is pleasant to listen to, but after all, it is a sound.
produced by an object, not the mother’s own voice, which
cannot conceal the fact that the mother is mute.
Emery still thought that Bethany’s actions were unnecessary,
childish, and boring.
He seemed a little impatient, “You can use sign language, I can
understand it. Use the voice ring that Dad gave you when you
encounter someone who doesn’t understand sign language
outside. You don’t need it for me.”
Bethany’s heart ached slightly.
She still smiled, put away her phone, and started using sign
language directly, “I’ll go buy you some food. Lie down properly.
You just had surgery, don’t move around, so the wound doesn’t
open up. Understand?”
“Got it.”
When Emery was young, his immune system was weak, and he
often had to go to the hospital. Bethany knew that the hospital
food wasn’t very tasty, so she went outside to buy breakfast for
Emery.
Chapter 2
After buying breakfast, Bethany happily returned, put the
breakfast away, went to fetch water, and helped Emery with
his morning routine.
After getting ready, she sat at the bedside and started feeding.
After Emery finished eating, Bethany gently took a tissue and
wiped Emery’s lips.
At this moment, the nurse responsible for giving Emery
injections came in.
It was still the nurse who gave Emery an injection when he had
a fever last time, his classmate’s mother.
The nurse prepared the injection while smiling and said,
“Emery, who is this beautiful lady to you? She is so kind to you.”
Bethany instinctively signed in sign language, “I am Emery’s
mother.”
Emery’s face instantly changed…
The nurse saw Bethany signing in sign language and blinked
her eyes. She sadly said, “It’s such a pity that someone so
beautiful doesn’t know how to speak.”
Emery could understand Bethany’s sign language. She was

saying that she was his mother, and he was afraid that she
would use the voice ring to let the nurse know.
He was a little angry, and his tone began to sound disdainful.
“What are you gesturing about? No one understands your sign.
language.”
Bethany took out her phone and prepared to speak using a
voice–activated ring.
Emery snatched her phone and said to the nurse with a smile,
“Auntie, she is the nanny at my house. My dad likes peace and
quiet, so we have arranged for someone who can’t speak to be
the nanny.”
Bethany was stunned…
Did Emery actually say that she was a nanny?
There were many TV dramas where the son succeeded and
despised his own mother, claiming she was just a housekeeper
or a distant relative.
But the mother was not angry, she could only silently shed
tears, afraid of embarrassing her child.
When Bethany was watching TV, she hated her white–eyed son
to the core.
Chapter 2
She had never imagined that such a dramatic scene would
happen to her.
She suddenly empathized with the mother who secretly shed
tears in the TV drama.
This is simply heart–wrenching!
