Chapter 135
Gwyneth quickly covered Carol’s mouth with her hand. “Don’t shout! It’s late at night–do you want us to get a noise complaint?”

Carol’s eyes went wide as she grabbed Gwyneth’s hand and shook it quickly. “No wonder you drive a Cullinan every day–you’ve totally become one of Joracity’s top rich girls! Come on, text him back already.”
“Let go of me first,” Gwyneth said, pulling her hand free.
Gwyneth checked her phone and saw that Harrison had only sent: [Landed.] So typical.
Gwyneth replied “OK“.
Carol stared at her in shock. “Seriously? That’s all you said to your husband–just ‘OK‘?”
“I said the same thing just now,” Gwyneth said.
Carol thought, ‘Gwyneth treats her husband so coldly, but he gives her a Cullinan. He actually seems pretty good
to
her.
Carol led Gwyneth inside and they talked briefly about work. Carol blurted out, “Oh right–what’s going on between you and Zachary?”
Carol had been so shocked about Harrison that she missed all the drama between Gwyneth and Zachary–she hadn’t heard a word about their messy breakup. Gwyneth thought for a second and explained what had happened.
Unlike Elowen, Carol knew more about Gwyneth and Zachary’s relationship. She immediately got angry. “You helped him build his business so he could keep a mistress behind your back? Unbelievable!”
Gwyneth chuckled.
Carol shot her a furious look. “What’s so funny? If it weren’t for you, Zachary would never be this successful. That ungrateful bastard!”
She snapped, “I’d stab him full of holes, mummify him, bury him, dig him up and cut his body apart. And he still dares to live in the same building as you with Bella?”
She got angrier with each word, swinging her tools wildly. Gwyneth, surprised to see her friend more upset than herself, stopped her with a helpless laugh. “Easy there, tiger. Let’s get back to work–Zachary and I are history.”
“Good. Harrison bought you a Cullinan and is way better than that jerk.” Carol finally calmed down a little.
Gwyneth chuckled. “If you like the Cullinan that much, I’ll take you for a ride in it later.”
“No thanks. Work first. Show me your mom’s porcelain collection–I want to look at it carefully.”
“Alright,” Gwyneth said, loving how focused Carol was. Sure, Carol liked cars, but her career always came first.
Zachary had just shaken off his last hangover when he suddenly sneezed hard. Just then, his assistant Abel sent over a file. “Here’s all the info and contact details for the violinist from the concert,” Abel said.
Zachary started flipping through the papers. He still couldn’t forget how amazing the masked violinist’s performance was that day. As he opened the file, his eyes landed on a delicate girl’s picture, with the name Vera Collins written below.
Standing nearby with a glass of honey water, Bella saw Vera on the screen. A mean glare flashed in her eyes. She thought, ‘Has Zachary started liking someone else? I haven’t even dealt with Gwyneth yet, and now another girl!‘
Holding back the jealousy and anger she felt, she put on an innocent face and moved closer to him. She cooed, “This young lady has such a graceful presence. Is she an executive the headhunter found for you?”
