Chapter 179
Another slap Hand this time.
“You lying; bitch!” I yelled, grabbing a fistful of her hair. She screamed, clawing at my hand as I dragged her out into the hallway.
Her shrieks must have carried because moments later, Dominic appeared at the other end of the hallway
“What the hell is going on?” he demanded, striding toward us.
I didn’t let Eliza go until he was close enough to intervene. She stumbled back, clutching her head, her face a mixture of anger and pain.
“She’s insane!” Eliza wailed, pointing a shaky finger at me. “She attacked me!”
My threat tightened as Dominic hauled Eliza to her feet. The image branded itself in my mind: the man I’d loved holding up the woman who’d ruined everything,
“She’s pregnant, Faith!” Dominic thundered, his voice full of anger, like that was somehow a justification. “How could you do that to her?”
I laughed, the sound hitter and broken. Tears blurred my vision, but I would not let them fall. “She’s pregnant?” I repeated, my voice shaking in incredulity. “That’s your excuse? You have to protect her now because she’s carrying your o
r child?!”
Dominic opened his mouth, but I cut him off, taking a step closer to him, my voice shaking with raw emotion. “You have to choose, Dom. Right here, right now. If you want her, then line. But I’m taking my son, and I’m leaving ”
Η
His face turned dark. “If you want to go, then go,” he said icily. “But Caleb doesn’t
The room spun. The air left my lungs. His words hit harder than any physical blow ever could
“Excuse me?” I managed to get out in a whisper,
“You heard me,” he said, his jaw tight. “Caleb stays. He’s my son, and he’s staying here.”
Something inside me snapped. “There is no way in hell I’m leaving my son with you and this.” I gestured toward Eliza, who was smirking through her feigned tears. “This madwoman! You two deserve each other!”
I turned and stormed into the bedroom, scooping Caleb Into my arms. My baby. My world. There was no way I was letting Dominic or Eliza take him
from me
Tharely made it a
a step before Dominic followed me, closing the door behind him and locking it.
“Faith, wait,” he said, his voice softening.
I spun around, clutching Caleb tightly. “No, Dom. I’m done waiting. I’ve waited hong enough for you to put me first, to put our family first. But instead you brought her into our home!”
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice cracking. He took a step closer, his hands outstretched “Faith, please. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said out there. I was angry–stupid. Please don’t leave.”
1 shook my head, my tears spilling over. “I can’t do this anymore, Dom. It hurts too much.“
He closed the gap between us, pulling me into his arms. I wanted to fight him, to push him away, but my body wouldn’t listen to me. I allowed him to hold me while I cried.
“I love you,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “I love you so much, Faith. And I’m so sorry for everything. I know I hurt you, and I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if you let me.‘
I shook my head against his chest. “I don’t believe you, Dom. You let her in. You brought her here knowing what it would do to me.“.
“She’s here because I have a plan,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
“I pulled back, looking up at him through tour–filled eyes. “A plan?”
He nodded. “Eliza wiped all the evidence against her. I tried to get her re–arrested, but the judge told me she’s been pardoned. I need to expose her, Faith. Tpeed access to her phone, but she keeps it on her at all times. The only way to get close enough is to gain her trust”
His words hung in the air between us,
“She’s pregnant, Dom,” I said, my voice shaking. “How do you explain that?”
He hesitated, guilt flashing in his eyes. “L… I don’t know. But I swear to you, Faith, I never touched her. She drugged me. I’ll prove it. Just, please trust
The

“Dominic!” Eliza’s voice screeched from the other side. “What are you doing, in there?!
Dominic sighed, Iraning his forehead against mine. “We’ll talk later,” he whispered. “But please, Faith Don’t go. Not like this.”
He unlocked the door and left me alone with Calch.
Eliza’s shrill voice faded as they walked way, and I dropped back onto the bed, holding Caleb close. My head was a jumble, torn between wanting to believe Dominic and wanting to protect myself from more pain,
