Terrence trusted Randy more.
His grandpa, when it came to this kind of thing, was just like
him–both could keep their cool.
Terrence went to the office and wanted to finish work stuff as
soon as possible.

I was almost done with what I was working on when Michael
knocked and came in.
“Mr. McConnell, I found out about your father–in–law.”
“Hurry up and give it to me.”
Michael gave the materials to Terrence.
Terrence checked the info and then found out that Bethany’s
adoptive father was in jail.
“Make some arrangements, I’ll go see him.”
“Okay!”
No matter what kind of person her adoptive father was, he had
to go see him before Kyson.

The records showed he owed people money because of
gambling. When people came after him for the debt, he
accidentally injured someone and left them disabled. He got
sentenced to ten years in prison for that, and he had only two or
three months left before getting out.
He had a history of gambling, and when he was young, he was

Michael helped Terrence book a time to visit the prison.
In the visiting room, Bethany’s foster father Irvin Zavala looked
over the proud, noble man and just couldn’t figure out who he

Irvin had spent ten years in prison, and he looked older than
others his age. He thought about it for a long time but still

Irvin’s eyes lit up for a second, “So you’re the son–in–law.”
I didn’t expect that mute wild girl actually married such a rich
husband.
Irvin glanced at the watch on Terrence’s wrist, and it was
obviously worth a fortune.
“Don’t try to get close so fast, I knew she wasn’t your real
daughter.”
The smile on Irvin’s face shattered. “Since you already knew,
why did you still come to me?”
“I wanted to know when she couldn’t talk? And when did she
become your daughter?”
Irvin knew he only had two or three months left before getting
out of prison. After getting out, he would have nothing. The
man in front of him….
He reached out to Terrence and rubbed his five fingers together.
The corners of Terrence’s lips curled into a mocking smile,
“Money wasn’t a problem, but if you dared to say one lie…”
It sounded really threatening.
Irvin could tell the man in front of him wasn’t someone he could
mess with.
A long time later, Terrence came out of the visiting room, his
chest felt like it was being squeezed tight by a big hand, and he
could barely breathe.
