“Shyla, be good, Bethany was my wife, you had to start calling
me godfather.”
Shyla was just about to call him godfather when Bethany called
out to her, “Shyla, I am going to divorce him, you don’t need to
call him godfather.”
Three black lines appeared on Terrence’s forehead, “Why did
you say that in front of the kid? Does the kid even know what
divorce is?”
“I know, divorce just means Bethany doesn’t want you
anymore, you guys will live your own lives from now on. If
Bethany wants to divorce you, then I’ll just call you Uncle
Terrence.” As she said this, Shyla turned to look at Bethany and
started pitching Kyson to her, “Bethany, after you get divorced,
you can marry my uncle. My uncle smiles more than Uncle
Terrence and he’s gentler too.”
This Duarte family, every single one of them, was really
annoying.
Bethany smiled and rubbed Shyla’s little nose, “Yeah, you made
a good point, such a little grown–up, let’s go take a bath and go to

Bethany pushed open the master bedroom door, and a strong
sweet smell of apples came out from inside.
There were lots of apples all over the bedroom, they looked
really nice, and there were some mood lights too, plus there was
a Christmas tree on the balcony.
“Wow, Bethany, your bedroom was so pretty. There were so
many apples. If we ate one a day, it felt like it would take a year
to finish them.”
The Christmas Eve and Christmas vibe was strong, and
Bethany’s eyelashes fluttered.
If all this had happened a year earlier, maybe the result would
have been different, but now she really didn’t need it.
She turned her head to look at Terrence, Terrence didn’t say
anything and walked away.
I was afraid she’d say no, afraid she’d say he was boring.
Bethany carried Shyla in and put her down. Shyla picked a
round, red apple and said, “Bethany, you eat this one. This one
looks really tasty.”

let’s save it for tomorrow.”

Bethany looked at all those apples and thought, even if we sent

pajamas.””

Bethany went to Emery’s room to look for clothes, Shyla walked
to the Christmas tree and looked at the two pretty bags hanging
on it, thinking, Santa will definitely put gifts in the bags tonight.
When she got up tomorrow morning, she wanted to see with
Bethany what kind of gifts Santa Claus would put in the bag.

The first thing Shyla did when she got up was pull Bethany to
the Christmas tree. “Bethany, let’s open the presents! Santa must.

Because this Christmas tree was definitely put up by Terrence,

with her and took down the first bag.
She handed the bag to Shyla, “Why don’t you open the first
one?”
Shyla opened the first bag, her eyes wide open, “Wow, it’s a
Disneyland prepaid gold card!”
Bethany knew it was Terrence who prepared it for Shyla.
