The handsome man, even if one of his legs was hurt and he
needed a cane, still didn’t lose any of his charm. His posture was
just as graceful and attractive.
“Beth, I never thought about getting a divorce. I agreed to go to
the courthouse with you because I wanted to give myself thirty
days. Time went by so fast, a week was gone in the blink of an
eye. I don’t want to waste any more time. There are three weeks
left. Can you use these last three weeks to take another look at
me?”
Bethany stared into his eyes, her gaze both intense and relaxed,
“Did you even lie to me about going to get the certificate after
the cooling–off period ended?”
“No, I just wanted to buy some time, Beth. I thought there was a
misunderstanding between us. No matter what you saw, did
you really check it out? There’s a saying, even what you see
with your own eyes could be fake. So, can we talk? Tell me the
reason why you have to get a divorce, okay?”
Bethany was silent.

Terrence saw she didn’t say anything and said, “You don’t want
me anymore, at least let me know the reason.”
Bethany asked back, “You didn’t know?”
Terrence frowned, “I know some of it. You mean the thing
between me and Krista. Besides that, is there anything else?”
It was best to ask everything at once, otherwise after one thing
was solved, there would be another. Solving all the problems at
once was the best.
Bethany couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed, “The problem.
between us isn’t just this. We see things differently, our values
don’t match, and I don’t want to keep making do anymore.”
She didn’t bother to mention Krista again, like she was still
jealous or something.
She turned around, didn’t want to look at him anymore.
Terrence stepped in front of her, “You really didn’t want to give
me a chance to explain?”
“Ever since Krista showed up, I decided to give Mrs. McConnell’s
place back to you. From start to finish, I was the one who
willingly stepped out of this marriage. I don’t need any
explanation. Stop wasting your time.”
