“It really was because the Lamont family was willing. Mr.
Lamont and Mrs. Lamont liked you a lot when you were little,
and they’d been waiting all these years. Since they couldn’t find
you, your parents were worried about holding up Lucian’s
marriage, so they talked to them about breaking off the
engagement. They wouldn’t agree. In the end, your parents said.
if Lucian found a girlfriend and wanted to get married, but you
still hadn’t been found, then they’d call it off.”
Bethany was a bit surprised, “The Lamont family was really this
set on the marriage?”
“Well, Mr. Lamont and Mrs. Lamont especially liked you, they
were kind of partial to you. Today at the McConnell’s villa, they
even said it in front of Sir McConnell, even if you had married
Terrence and had kids, they didn’t mind. If you wanted custody
of the kids, the Lamont family would raise them like their own.”
Bethany was shocked, this really was a kind of preference.
But sometimes this kind of thing did happen. Some people just
had a deeper connection, even if they only met once, they really
wanted to be nice to each other.

“Brother, I understood everything you said, but Lucian and I… it
definitely wasn’t possible.”
“Alright, I got it, no rush, let’s meet up first, they really missed
you, tonight we’ll head out to see Mom and Dad, after we see
them, let them handle this.”
Kyson was just a junior in front of Efrain and Rebecca, so it
wasn’t his place to talk to Efrain and Rebecca about breaking off
the engagement.
“I guess we didn’t really need to worry that much, maybe Lucian
himself didn’t even agree to this marriage.””
Kyson was too embarrassed to tell Bethany. Lucian didn’t agree,
but the key was his parents did. Lucian was filial and wouldn’t
really go against his parents‘ decision. Otherwise, he wouldn’t
have told him in advance and waited until he found Daphne,
then just dropped the marriage and let him figure it out.
Kyson gently patted Bethany’s arm to comfort her, “Yeah, let’s
not worry about this for now. The marriage was arranged by
our parents, so when the time comes, both families will sit down
and work it out. Mom and Dad definitely wouldn’t force you to
marry someone you don’t want to.””
Kyson knew there was another Julio waiting in line over there.

If Bethany had to choose later, the chances of her picking Julio
would probably be way higher than picking Lucian.
“Well, then let’s go down.”
Jameson and the Lamont family, the three of them, sat in the
living room, chatting and laughing.
Daphne was found, and it was a huge deal for them.
Kyson led Bethany down, and the whole Lamont family looked
- up.
Rebecca’s eyes lit up.
She really was a beauty. She looked good when she was little,
and the older she got, the prettier she became.
She had a gentle and quiet vibe, really suited to be his daughter-
in–law.
The only downside was that there seemed to be less of a smile.
Efrain’s taste and personality were pretty much the same as
Rebecca’s, and he was super satisfied. He couldn’t stop grinning
right now.
Lucian just looked at Bethany with a meaningful gaze.

Earlier, when I found out she was Terrence’s wife, I didn’t really
feel anything special.
After all, he wasn’t like Kyson–he wouldn’t have any thoughts
about his brother’s wife.
Luckily, Kyson was her brother, so everything made sense.
