Chapter498
Terrence closed his eyes.
Evangeline didn’t say anything more. They were twins, and
sometimes they had a kind of telepathy. She could feel the pain
in his heart.
Some things, she didn’t even need to ask him, she already knew.
He liked Bethany in his heart.
It wasn’t that she didn’t have that feeling, she just didn’t want to
admit it to Bethany.
It was like the first time she saw Bethany and Julio together at
the fabric market, she couldn’t be sure if Bethany was seeing
another guy, and she never thought about telling Terrence,
afraid she’d get it wrong and mess up their relationship.
Evangeline wiped her tears and quietly left the hospital room.
She barely slept that night. When Emery woke up in the
morning, Evangeline was already sitting by his bed.
“Auntie, why did you get up so early?”
Chapter498
“Emery, go wash up early. Auntie took you somewhere, then
sent you to school.”
“Okay”
Evangeline patted Emery on the head. After he finished.
breakfast, Evangeline drove him to the Duarte’s villa.
Jameson found out it was Evangeline visiting, and he actually
felt a bit uneasy, but then he remembered this girl had always
been good to him, so he told the servant to let her in.
When Evangeline came in holding Emery’s hand, Jameson.
looked at Emery’s face, which was almost the same as
Terrence’s, and knew he was Daphne’s son.
He was his great–great–grandson.
I was pretty excited at that moment.
But when he thought about this little brat calling someone else.
mom outside and hurting Daphne’s feelings, his face instantly
darkened and he said unhappily, “What are you doing here?”
Emery frowned, why was this grandpa so mean?
Evangeline knew they were in the wrong now, so she was
really nice. She pulled Emery over to Jameson and smiled,

“Jameson, this is your great–great–grandson Emery.”
Emery asked in confusion, “Aunt, why was he also my great-
grandpa?”
“Because he was your mom’s grandpa.”
Evangeline patiently explained.
But Jameson turned his head and said, “I don’t have a great-
grandson like him who calls someone else mom. Take him
away, I don’t even want to look at him.”
Emery was already six, so of course he could understand what
Jameson meant.
He said outside that Krista was his mom, which really wasn’t
right. When someone pointed it out directly, he actually felt
pretty embarrassed. He subconsciously grabbed Evangeline’s
hand.
Evangeline quickly said to Jameson, “Jameson, Emery is still
young
and can be easily led astray, but it’s also easy to set him
right again. No matter what, he’s still Beth’s own child. He hasn’t
seen Beth for days. I brought him here today because I wanted
him to see Beth.”

and as her sister, she really couldn’t stand it, so she still had to
figure out if she could get Bethany to go see Terrence.
“Is six years old still little? He’s six and still doesn’t even
recognize his own mom? Acting like this is just messed up. If it
wasn’t because the McConnell family looked down on our
Daphie, would this have happened? I’ll be honest with you, Beth
didn’t want to see him, no one in the Duarte family wanted to
see him, so just take him away.”
Emery thought about how his mom really ignored him that day,
only had eyes for Shyla, and then his great–grandpa said that.
His tears just started streaming down and he cried sadly.
Evangeline frowned and said, “Jameson, he’s just a kid, don’t say
something so harsh in front of him.”
