Chapter 3
(Lily’s POV)
I stirred from sleep to a slight rustling sound beside me.
The first thing that hit me was the dull ache between my legs, a sore reminder of what Zion and I had done.
I looked up, and saw Zion’s back turned to me as he pulled the zipper on his trousers closed. He fumbled with his belt for a moment before he pulled his shirt over himself, covering the fine lines on his back from my sight
My stomach twisted at his actions, and at the same time I felt an odd feeling of satisfaction knowing that Zion and I had made love.
I smiled
Images of what happened crossed my mind and I blushed harder.
From the look of the moon still hanging high in the sky, I assumed we had been together for close to an hour. After we both went over the cliff of pleasure, Zion collapsed beside me and fell into a slight slumber. I did the same.
The joy I felt in knowing that I was mated to him was unmatched. He was my bestfriend and my first love. It felt like I was finally going to get all I ever wanted and despite the ache between my legs; my wolves and I were sated.
But it seemed as if I was the only one satisfied with the outcome of our bonding. Watching him, I could see he was in a hurry to leave here, to leave
- me.
When he had buttoned up his shirt, he turned back to me, his lips pursed, his expression unreadable. His gaze was fixed on me. I was half dressed, my dress bunched at my waist, leaving my breast bare for him to see, I saw his gaze flick over them, and I smiled, hoping his gaze would soften.
Zion looked at my face, and the frown on his face deepened. He bent down, and I shivered awaiting his touch on me. However I was pulled out of my imagination when he dragged his tie from underneath dress.
my
Disappointment washed through me in waves..
“You should get dressed” He said roughly as he wore his tie
I nodded, unable to say a word as I sat up. I slowly pulled my dress back over my body.
I nouced that a small part of it was ripped, but it was almost unnoticeable.
When I finished, I reached for Zion.
At first he hesitated, then I slipped my hands into his and he didn’t pull away. That was enough to reassure me that Zion was still mine.
Maybe he just needed a little time to adjust to this discovery. After all, a few hours ago, the only relationship between us was a long lost friendship.
And then there was Celeste.
This was a lot for Zion, I understood that. That must be the reason why he was a little cold.
We walked back to the palace hand in hand. I limped slightly, the ache between my legs still reminding me of unit mating. Zion didn’t pay any attention to me. He didn’t say a word either. He just simply walked beside me, his gaze fixed ahead, his expression stoic
By the time we walked into the palace grounds, I noticed that the atmosphere had gone a little quiet, and the music that filtered out to the surroundings was no longer playing.
We were about to enter the mansion when a group of warriors marched to a stop before Zion and 1. They bowed.
“Your Highnes.” One of the men in respect.
I saw the warriory te fack to where my hand and Zion’s were in a lock hold. The wolf said nothing, and stepped back when Zion walked away, still holding op to me.
kelt an odd sense of satisfaction. He didn’t pull away in front of others.
My fears were beginning to ship off or after the other.
The warriors followed us as we stepped back into the party, only it was no longer a party, but rather a group of very concerned guests.

Chapter 3
Zion still held my hand even though we were now in front of his family and friends.
I was sure that this was the big moment, the moment Zion would announce that we were mates.
Butterflies flooded my stomach in anticipation as I awaited the moment
However, before Zion could say a word, the crowd parted and Celeste ran up to us. She threw herself into Zion’s arms, forcing our hands apart.
I felt a surge of annoyance hit me. Celeste had never made me so angry as I was at that moment. She was invading.
Zion didn’t pull away from her hold as I expected, instead he stayed in place while Celeste placed her hands over his face, checking him out in worry.
“I have been looking everywhere for you. Oh, thank the goddess you are alright” She gasped and hugged him again. “I was so worried I thought I thought something had happened.”
“I’m fine.” He said softly.
Celeste finally pulled away, and Zion moved forward. He came to a stop before his parents and Zelda, the princess
Zelda took a step forward, her eyes watching Zion intently. Like Celeste, she was worried.
Brother.” She said softly.
Zion smiled in reassurance. “I’m sorry I made you worried.” He said.
Zelda slapped his arm lighty and Zion chuckled before he faced the King and Queen.
Queen Eden opened her arms to Zion. Zion stepped into her embrace.
“You had everyone worried” She started. “While your father and I might think you are fine, Zelda and Celeste were having a hit. Your sister even summoned the warriors to carry out a search.”
“I saw” Zion said.
He looked at his father and bowed slightly. The King slapped him affectionately on the back. “You should learn to inform your family of your whereabouts.” He said simply
At that moment, Queen Eden looked past Zion and sighted me. She gasped in surprise, and a smile lit her face.
“Lily.” She squealed.
Before I knew it, I was pulled up in a tight embrace as the Queen squeezed me a little too affectionately.
Suddenly, years of loneliness poured out and I felt tears prick my eyes. As I slowly hugged her back.
I missed her, the only mother I ever knew.
However our moment cut short as Queen Eden suddenly pulled back a small frown on her face.
“Why do I smell Zion on you?” she asked.
“We were together.” Zion said quickly, too quickly apparently. Queen Eden raised a brow at his answer, and Zion began to explain with a slight
“I uw Lily heading for the forest. I went after her because I was worried she would fall prey to the traps I had set earlier in the day. I didn’t want her
The Queen’s gaze moved between us, unwavering as she didn’t look convinced by his answer, I looked away, not wanting her to see the blush that creeped up my face. I felt like she would see the truth if she stared at me longer.
The crowd whispered praises in Zion’s name, and I suddenly felt a sour taste in my mouth at the lie be told. I was still going through the shock of his story when Celeste glued herself to Zion once more, her eyes brimming in anticipation.
Do it now” She said, “Tell them the good news.” She urged.
My pomuch dropped. What news! I had a feeling I would hate it.
Zion smiled, not at me, bot Celeste and with a strong voice, he declared “I have chosen Celeste as my mate, and future Queen of the realm!TM
