Chapter 21
I’m determined to end our mate bond.
But Alpha Edmond–oh, that foolish mate of mine–he actually refused.
Did he really think this was up to him?
The situation was at a standstill between us.
Before long, the day of judgment in the Werewolf Kingdom court arrived.
The courtroom was solemn and cold, like a silent grave, with the elders wearing blank expressions and the Alpha King, Samson, seated imperiously at the front.
Alpha Edmond stood in the defendant’s seat, and when faced with questioning from the

Werewolf court about the crime of killing Noah, he admitted it straightforwardly.
The elders asked me if I, as Noah’s mother, was willing to forgive him.
I shook my head coldly.
In the end, the Werewolf court stripped him of his Alpha title and sentenced him to the far northern mines to serve as an Omega, forcing him to toil and sweat to atone for the sin he committed against Noah.
Before the Warriors of the Werewolf court took him away, he looked at me with red–rimmed eyes and confessed:
“Fiona, I killed Noah. I’m guilty, and I’m willing to pay for my crime… but please, forgive me…”

I held his bloodshot gaze and told him, word for word:
“There’s no way in hell!”
“Why…” he howled in agony, his body trembling.
I took a deep breath, my voice as cold as the winds of the North.
“Edmond, do you remember the vow you made before the Moon Goddess? You said you would only love and protect me in this life, that you would never betray me. If you did, your wolf soul would be torn apart and never know peace!”
“And what happened? You broke that vow, betrayed our love, and even took the life of our son! What makes you think you have the right to beg for my forgiveness here? I will

never forgive you!”
His face was etched with regret, tears streaming down the corners of his eyes.
He was led away by two massive Warriors, like a dead dog being dragged off.
I turned away, not giving him another glance.
After Edmond’s exile, I rightfully took over all matters of the Silver Moon Pack.
Managing such a large pack was a bit challenging for me, but I had two capable and loyal Betas assisting me.
With their help, everything in the Silver Moon Pack was running smoothly.
Before long, I applied to the Werewolf
Kingdom court to reclaim all the resources

that Alpha Edmond had personally given to Emma.
Money, property, businesses–all belonged to Silver Moon Pack, not to a wretched woman.
Sadly, those resources had long been squandered by Emma, who was in no position to repay anything and flat–out refused to do so.
In the end, the court enforced the ruling and took everything back from her.
Emma came storming into my council chamber like a wildcat whose tail had just been stepped on, her face twisted in rage as she screamed at me:
“Fiona, why are you going to such extremes! The money was freely given to me by Edmond, what right do you have to take it

back? And my children are also Edmond’s kids; they have the right to inherit the resources of Silver Moon Pack! What gives you the right to swallow it all?”
Inheritance?
Oh, Moon Goddess, her words were laughable at best.
“Emma, Alpha Edmond is just off to become an Omega; he’s not dead yet, yet you’re so eager to divide up his things? Too bad for you, I’m his Luna, the mistress of the pack. Those twins of yours? According to the laws of the Werewolf Kingdom, as long as I don’t agree, you won’t take a single blade of grass away from Silver Moon Pack!”
Emma’s nostrils flared as she was seething, her chest rising and falling rapidly.

She screamed, trying to lunge at me to tear me apart, but I merely gestured, and the Warriors promptly escorted her out.
Without Alpha Edmond’s protection, no one would stand up for her and those two little bastards anymore.
Emma, now utterly broke and with nowhere to turn, had to take her two kids and
move into a rundown shack where rogues frequently roamed.
Used to a comfortable life, she couldn’t handle any hardship at all.
To support her kids, she had to swallow her pride and sell drinks in the most chaotic tavern in the Werewolf Kingdom.
I heard from my subordinates that she had to down copious amounts of cheap ale

every day, laughing and joking with those foul–smelling rogues.
Even when those brutish men laid their hands on her, she could only grit her teeth and swallow her anger.
The woman who almost replaced me has now become a cheap delicacy for any rogue
to savor.
