Chapter 23
1:03 a.m. Holloway Manor. Logan’s study.
I turned the key–one he forgot to reclaim- and slipped inside.
Same polished bookshelves. Same leather–and–cedar scent I once mistook for
“home.”
Now it just smelled like betrayal.
I opened the first drawer of his redwood desk. Empty. Second drawer–bingo. Letters sealed in black wax, Felicity’s handwriting all over them.
“Dear Logan, I finally did it. I made Meghan cry today.”

My fingers twitched. I looked up. On the top shelf–a book that didn’t belong to him: Moon Pattern Codex.
I grabbed it, flipped through–and out slipped a silver card.

scribbled in red ink: Three days from now.
They planned to hijack my awakening and sacrifice me at a Fallen shrine?
I laughed–cold and sharp. My blood wasn’t theirs to use.
Then I heard it. Beep.
The eye of the white wolf sculpture on the wall flashed red.
I pressed it.
A hidden wall slid open.
The secret room reeked of silver dust, incense, and my perfume.
Photos covered the walls.

Felicity, at every age. Seventeen. Twenty. In school. In ballgowns. Practicing Luna etiquette.
And in the center–a photo of me in my wedding dress. Labeled underneath: Pose Reference.
I stared at it, chest tight.
I was just a placeholder. A rehearsal. A shadow.
Then a voice played softly from the bookshelf’s speaker.
Recordings.
Our private conversations. My breakdowns. My cries in the dark.
“Logan, I’m tired…”

“Why won’t you hold me?”
“Do you regret marrying me?”
I stood frozen. He kept these. Why?
For mockery? For trophies? Or just to prove to himself that I had once loved him?
My wristband buzzed. Urgent.
“Luna!” Anna’s voice crackled. “Felicity’s bloodline registration with the Fallen Clan was just approved! She’s heading to the shrine tomorrow–trying to trigger a blood resonance!”
“She’s trying to preempt your awakening!”
My vision went red. “If she dares to offer my destiny as a sacrifice, then I’ll make sure she

never leaves that shrine alive.”
By morning, wolfnet exploded again.
[Logan’s secret room exposed!]
[Wall full of Felicity photos–Meghan’s wedding pic labeled ‘Reference‘!]
[Was Meghan just a stand–in from the beginning?!]

I smiled. “Take back what’s mine. And make them kheel beneath the moon.”
The ruins of the Fallen Temple lay atop the northern ridge, carved into obsidian rock and wrapped in howling snow.
The wind carried ash, cold, and the scent of spilled blood.

Disguised as patrol warriors, we snuck in from the back cliffs–silent, efficient.
“Based on the timing,” Elias whispered, his hand on the hilt of his blade, “the blood ritual starts tonight, as soon as the moon rises.”
I nodded.
Tonight, I’m not here just to stop the ceremony.
I’m here to end a decade of theft and betrayal.
Outside the temple.
Brazier’s flickered. Fallen Clan priests in gray robes stood in tight circles, white bone staffs thudding the earth in rhythm.
Felicity stood at the center, clothed in a deep

red ritual gown threaded with silver runes. Her wrist bore a thorny Moonbinding chain- stolen from the Luna shrine.
And Logan… wore full Alpha ceremonial
armor.
He wasn’t just a spectator.
He was the high priest.
Whatever softness had survived in me, it died right then.
“The blood shall guide. The moon shall judge. With Luna’s true blood, we summon the Awakened Seal-”
Felicity raised her ritual dagger.
But before she could strike, I stepped into the firelight.

Cloak billowing, silver armor gleaming, my blade already drawn.
“You dare use my blood for your ceremony?” My voice rang across the stone and ice.
Felicity turned, startled–but quickly recovered, smiling sweetly.
“You made it after all, sister.”
That word–sister–sent a chill through the crowd.
Logan stepped forward, face tense. “You shouldn’t be here.”
“Too bad” I said, blade flashing. “I never did learn to behave.”
I lunged at Felicity, aiming for her throat.

She dodged, swirling away, her palm glowing with a dark rune that flared and slammed
of into me.
The spell crackled with stolen lunar energy-
my energy.
“You used my blood to craft this?” I snarled.
She laughed. “Didn’t you say it yourself? We’re of the same bloodline. If you won’t use it–I will.”
