Chapter 176
Conrad walked straight to Moira’s side.
Seeing the wine stains on her dress and her slightly red eyes, he frowned unconsciously
“What happened?” he asked.
Moira’s nerves had been so tense that they were about to break. She felt a suppressed anger and helpless panic, but she restrained herself from showing it because she knew that once these people saw her weakness, they would gloat even more, blame and attack her.
She had thought that coming here today and explaining to Lily that she wouldn’t be with Conrad would be enough

There was no sound in the banquet hall. Everyone stared at the two people in front of them with wide eyes.

The puzzled and probing glances around male Lydia’s face turn extremely sour. She could not believe her son had actually taken a liking to such a woman. She was trembling with anger but had to suppress it. “Conrad, what are you doing?”

Moira raised her head from his embrace, looking at the commanding aura of authority he exuded and the respect and caution in the eyes of those around him. She bit her lip and said sofily, “They said I stole Ms. Marrow’s bracelet. I didn’t. They’re falsely accusing me”
As she spoke, Moira’s tears fell again.
Conrad’s brows furrowed, and he lifted his head, scanning the surrounding people. His gaze swept past his mother and seaded on Lily. “Who here says she stole it?”
The few people who had mocked Moira earlier felt a bit guilty. Especially Darlene and Kayla, who never expected Conrad to show up suddenly.
