Jessica looked down at her son, and as she did, she could not deny the resemblance between hum and Charles.
The thought that Charles might actually be her son’s father flashed through her mind, sending
e of surprise through her.
“How could it be? You don’t look anything like him,” she said quickly, contradicting her own thoughts.
“Mooming, you’re lying!” Arthur retorted, his gaze piercing as he observed her carefully.

“Yes,” he nodded earnestly.
“Mommy will find your dad as soon as possible,” she peocused, though the uncertainty of it weighed on her.
“What about Charles… “Arthur’s voice trailed off hopefull yet uncertain.
“He’s not your dad.” Jessica was firm, needing to protect her som from potential disappointment,
Her encounter five years ago was orchestrated by Rhea, and the mum she saw in the photo at the hospital was not Charles; she was sure of it
Arthur’s expression dimmed slightly, his small face shadowed by a mix of acceptance and sadness. Deep down, he thought if his father had been that stern bun intriguing man, he might have been okay with it. However, his mother’s words closed that door
As Charles entered the Hensley Manor at six in the evening, the butler promptly greened him “Mr. Hensley, you’re back. Your father is already waiting for you to have dinner”

Laughter echoed from the living room, the lively voice of his sister–in–law, Jane Sparrow, indicated the presence of guests.

When Charles tall imposing figure entered the room, the laughter ceased, and all eyes shifted to
him.
“Oh. Charles is back. Penteen ming, we have guests at home today, Jane announced with enthusiasm.
She then gestured to the woman beside her and approached Charles for introductions. “Charles, this is Mavis of the Kelners. She just meed from abroad. You met when you were young, do you remember?”
Charles gave Mavis a brief look. She shyly lowered her head, her demeanor suggesting more than mere acquaintance.
It did not take long for him to realize Jane’s intentiou–a semp for a blind date.
Glancing towards Dom, seated at the bead of the table, Charles noted his calm demeanor. It appeared he too favored the idea of Mavis becoming part of the family,
“I don’t remember,” Charles stated flatly, his response casting a palpable tension in the air.
Mavis’s smile faltered, visibly hurt by his indifference.
Jane, ever the mediator, quickly interjected. “It’s been years since your two saw each other, and those were childhood memories. It’s normal not to remember. Let’s non divell on this now, shall we? Dinner is ready.”
Despite the attempt to smooth things over, Mavis looked aggrieved, biring her lip as she stole another glance at Charles. She followed Jane to the dining area, albeit reluctantly
Charles, feeling cornered, decided to escape the setup. “You guys go ahead and ear. I need handle some things back at the company,” he announced abruptly and made his way our leasing the room before anyone could protest..
Jane hurried after him, concern lacing her voice, “Charles, can’t it wait until after dinner?” Bun in was too late; he was already gone.
“Forget it, let him be,” Dom said resignedly, aware of his son’s aversion to arranged meetings.
Jane clenched her fists, frustrated but determined. She was not ready to give up on her plans for Charles and Mavis, especially not to let Jessica gain any advantage.
Meanwhile, Charles arrived at the company. His visit was not spurred by urgent business but by a need for solitude.
The building was quiet, the day’s work were over and the employees gone.
Charles settled into the CEO’s office chair and lit a cigarette, his thoughts swirling around Jessica

As he pondered, his phone buzzed on the desk–it was a call from his assistant, Flint.
He picked up immediately. “What is it?”
“Mr. Hensley, we have the results of the paternity test.”

Charles felt a jolt. His grip on the cigarette faltered, and his voice grew tense. “Bring it here.”
Soon after, Flint entered the office and handed Charles a folder.
Charles took it, his hands slightly shaking as he pulled out the paternity test report and fixed his eyes on the results.
He sat motionless, absorbed by the numbers and words before him, his expression a mix of hope. and anxiety.
Meanwhile, Jessica was revisiting the hospital to check on her foot injury.
The doctor reviewed her latest test results and informed her that she was healing nicely. “A couple more days of rest, and you should be ready to return to work,” he advised, prescribing some additional medication.
Grateful, Jessica thanked the doctor and went to collect her medicine.
As she queued for her prescription, she thought she was ready to head home. However, just, as she was about to leave, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure at the end of the hallway.
Is it Rhea?
Is she back at the hospital, perhaps visiting that same doctor again?
