Ten minutes before the dinner, Jason started
calling Lindsay.
Each call went straight to voicemail.
Before, Lindsay never missed his calls. This

time, she ignored them all.
“Where is Lindsay? What’s going on?”
“Jason, did you upset her…?”
Facing his parents‘ questions and
accusations, Jason grew angrier. He was
furious that Lindsay was choosing to have a
tantrum instead of focusing on important
things.
He barely touched his food before speeding
home.
The house was empty. Lindsay was gone.
That’s when he noticed something was
missing.
A dreadful thought crossed his mind.
He realized many of her things were gone—
her closet was empty, her documents missing.
Even in the bathroom, only his toiletries
remained.
It was as if Lindsay had never lived there.
All traces of her were erased from his life.
“No, Lindsay loves me. She… couldn’t
disappear without a word.”
“She’s just angry, waiting for me to
apologize.”
Then he saw the trash can filled with their
photos.
Jason panicked. He searched every room.
Lindsay was always so obedient, so in love
with him. She wouldn’t leave without a word.
He refused to believe it.
He raced out of the house, flooring the gas
