8: (Michael’s Perspective)
When I lost money, a woman helped me.
She paid for my school.
She helped my depression.
I fell in love with her.
I knew that she was married, I had even met
her child.
I lost my mind.
I told her how I felt.
After that, she didn’t help me.
I tried to show her how much I loved her.

Then, I heard about the fire.
Her only child, Hayley, survived.
I was going to send her somewhere nice.
I was going to pay.
Her eyes looked like her mother’s.
I took her in.
Hayley was weak.
She would yell for her mom.
I didn’t know when I crossed the line.
She slept in my bed.
She had gotten her period, the women had no
idea.
She was only fifteen and asked to be fed,
what did I do.
I let her get close to me.
When she got her period, I explained things to
her.
I wanted the best things for her, but at what
cost?
I wanted her to be happy and helped make
sure I was the first man she loved.
I forgot her mother.
I felt disgusted.

Until Lynn told me she loved me.
I rejected her for Hayley.

Lynn said I was sick.
I was sick, she still took me.
When Hayley said she loved me, I was going
to say yes.
I thought back to when she was a child.
The words I said before echoed in my head,
“I’m sorry, this just is not going to work.”
I pointed fingers when I was the problem.
Although I rejected her I was hoping she
would chase me.

The man I had talked to on the computer.
I didn’t love her mother, I loved her.
I panicked and wanted her to be happy with

That man called me out.
I couldn’t say anything to her.
I ran home and saw Lynn.
She told me it was okay.
She said she was pregnant.
“How can she comeback knowing all of this.
You can be with me.”
She had ruined it for me.
She pushed Hayley away.
I saw her.
The doctors were able to help her and the
baby.
I had tried to ruin her.
I had ruined the best things in my life.
Lynn had blackmailed me.
I didn’t know what to do.
I had nothing to lose.

I had heard about Hayley going to school.
I watched her graduation and saw her say yes
to Kevin.
The company was falling.
Lynn was trying to destroy me.
Then, she forced me to marry her.
What was I going to do?
She wanted to be with me, let’s suffer
together.
The things I did for Hayley, I would never let
her have.
