Chapter 7
My words struck a nerve. She screamed, “It’s
your fault! You seduced him! He can’t forget
you!”
“Sarah Matthews, I won’t let you get away
with this!”
My voice was ice. “Jessica, I should be saying
that to you. If you keep messing with me, I
won’t be so forgiving.”
I still had the video of her framing me. If she

begging me to come back, claiming he didn’t
blame me for leaving.

demonstration of his commitment.

$20.000.

I tuned him out, my mind on the $20,000
bonus and how I’d use it.

fancy steak dinner…
“Sarah Matthews, are you even listening to
me?”
“Sarah Matthews!”
Ethan’s roar snapped me back to reality. I
checked the time.
“Sorry, Mr. Miller, it’s time to go. I’ll see you
tomorrow.”
As I left, I heard the sounds of furniture
crashing behind me.
