- 4.
I stood there frozen, tears silently falling.
Andrew didn’t reply, closed the door, walked
in, and apologized with a smile.
“I’m sorry, Sarah, it’s my fault. If you don’t
want to, I won’t force you. Don’t cry.”
He reached out, and I instinctively backed
away.
Looking at the two brothers working together,
I really wanted to laugh.
“I’ll take you somewhere to relax tomorrow,
Sarah. You need to be happy.”
Г
He tried to pull me into his arms, but I
dodged.
Andrew sighed dejectedly, but didn’t say
anything. “Go to sleep early.”
I silently looked out the window, my tears
already dried.
Vivian’s message came again.
This time, it was a photo of her and Ethan
holding hands, the ring on her finger silently
flaunting their relationship.
I remember I had thought about marrying
Ethan.
୮
But Ethan had said he was still young and
wanted to focus on his career, saying
relationships would only hold him back.
I remained silent and never mentioned it
again.
But now, seeing his bright smile, I realized
that he wanted to get married, but not to me.
Early the next morning, I sent Andrew away,
saying I wanted to eat buns from South
Street.
Andrew almost always indulged me.
If it weren’t for Ethan, I think I might have
fallen for him.

He affectionately rubbed my head. “Seeing
you like that yesterday, I thought you hated
- me. I’ll go buy them for you now.”
“Can you go by yourself later? I’m still
worried.”
I forced a smile. “Of course I can. Do you
think I’m a three–year–old? I’ll take a cab.”
After repeatedly confirming that I could go
alone, he finally left with peace of mind.
I got up and looked around the house I had
lived in for nearly four years, my throat
choking up.
Everything should end.

Let this wrong relationship disappear.
I packed my things and contacted a moving
company. I had been looking for a new place
ever since my sight returned.
The weather in Arizona is nice, and there are
many flowers I love.
I think it would be a good place.
I made an appointment with the OB/GYN
there and went out.
Just then, Andrew called again to urge me:
“Sarah, are you in the car yet? Be careful, I’m already on my way there.”
He was very clever. The location he gave me
was a park near the courthouse.
My voice was soft: “Yes, I’m leaving soon.”
Hearing my words, he obviously relaxed.
“Then hurry up.”
After hanging up the phone, I saw Vivian’s
social media post.
“The groom looks so handsome today. He
said he’s finally going to marry me!”
In the photo, he was devoutly kissing her
hand.
Vivian’s message came again.
“The stand–in story should end, Sarah.
Actually, you’re quite pitiful, but I won’t
sympathize with you, because your part is
over.”
I didn’t reply, silently blocking her contact.
Before boarding the plane, Andrew’s calls
kept coming in.
“Andrew, thank you for weaving me a
beautiful dream.”
I silently found Ethan’s number and wished
him happiness.
After doing all this, I blocked everyone’s
contact and turned on airplane mode.
Doing these things, I felt a rare sense of ease.
At the courthouse, Andrew received the news
and his mind went blank. When did she find
out his true identity?
Ethan and Vivian arrived late, a bad feeling
welling up in his heart when he received the
news of Sarah’s birthday.
They waited patiently for half an hour.
Andrew’s face was pale, and a ridiculous
thought popped into his head, his lips
trembling.
“Ethan, this is bad, Sarah seems to have
discovered something, she’s missing!”
