After rebirth, I tore apart the
Angelic bitch junior sister
Chapter 1
My fiancé’s new protégé, fresh out of law
school, was determined to prove herself a
legal eagle. So, she volunteered to take the
lead defending this small, but winnable case.
But when the opposing counsel started
grilling her, she cracked faster than a cheap
iPhone screen.
The whole thing went south, and she
dissolved into tears, running straight into my
fiancé’s arms.
“Oh, Tommy, it was awful! That lawyer was,
like, totally cutthroat! It was my first time in
court; I was so nervous!”
Because of her screw–up, our client, who
should’ve walked free, was now facing
serious jail time.
く
And Tommy and my protégé’s mentor, Dave,
just patted her on the head, all, “Hey, no one
wins ‘em all, right?”
“You’re such a smart girl, Amber. You’ll crush
it next time.”
I lost it.
“This isn’t some frickin‘ playground! This is a
courtroom! We’re here to find the truth and
fight for justice!”
“Because of your mistake, an innocent man is
going to prison! How do you sleep at night?”
Amber, naturally, started wailing like I’d just
kicked her puppy.
Tommy and Dave, instead of telling her to get
a grip, twisted the whole thing around,
blamed it all on me, and made me the
scapegoat.
I was forced to resign from my job, and on
top of that, was facing disbarment.
Desperate and with nowhere else to turn, I
L
was walking across the street, when some
idiot blew a red light and that was it, lights
out.
Now, I’m back. Back to the day this whole
nightmare began, back to the courtroom,
ready to rewrite the ending.

“I… I don’t know…”

Amber, our lawyer, was straight–up bawling in
front of the judge.
The other lawyer, smelled blood and went in
for the kill, hammering her with questions she
clearly couldn’t answer.
Her face turned white as a ghost, and she
looked over to my fiancé, Tommy, sitting in
the gallery, begging for help.
Last time, Amber’s meltdown in court was the
catalyst for everything that followed.
The client got hammered with a ten–year
く
sentence, and his family came after our firm
wanting answers.
Tommy, Mr. Smooth Talker, threw me under
the bus to protect Amber.
I was forced to resign, and then got slapped
with a massive lawsuit from the family.
When I begged Dave, who’s been my mentor
since law school, for help, he slammed the
door in my face and basically laughed in my
face.
The night I died, all I could think was: This is
all Amber’s fault! How am I the one paying
the price?!
Now, I’m here to make sure that she does!
With the gallery buzzing, I stood up,
practically shoved Amber back down into her
seat.
I took a deep breath and said, loud and clear:
“Objection, Your Honor. We contest the
validity of the Plaintiff’s evidence on the
grounds of relevance and purpose…”
I systematically tore apart the other lawyer’s
arguments, poking holes in his evidence and
exposing the inconsistencies.
After some pretty intense back–and–forth,
the judge ruled in our favor.
Our client was free to go due to lack of
evidence.
Outside the courthouse, I glared at Amber.
Smack!
The sound echoed in the air.
I just gave Amber all the anger and hatred
that’s been festering inside me since the past
life.
