Chapter 14
My professor was pleased that we got along so well. She had even privately told me that Adrian was usually quite cold and distant, suggesting I should be patient
with him.
But I almost doubted whether she and I were talking about the same person. What surprised me even more was that Adrian actually knew Callum. This brought
us even closer.
Adrian was incredibly good to me–so good that even Callum joked about being confused about which of them was my actual brother. Callum approved, though,
believing Adrian was far superior to Dominic in every way.
I just smiled at this. After all, despite Adrian’s kindness, he hadn’t actually confessed any feelings. Perhaps he was just being nice to his junior classmate? Still, my life in Berlin was definitely improving.
I even believed I would never see Dominic again.
Until he appeared at my doorstep, looking travel–worn but with eyes full of joy upon seeing me. “Sienna, I finally found you…”
Seeing Dominic again, I felt remarkably calm–I felt nothing, as if looking at a
stranger.
“Why are you here?” I frowned, unconsciously stepping back.
Noticing my retreat, pain flashed in Dominic’s eyes, but he quickly masked it. His voice was filled with longing and remorse: “I know I was wrong. Only after losing you did I realize how much I truly love you. I’ve been searching for you for so long. I haven’t slept properly in days. Sienna… can you forgive me just this once?” He looked pitiful, and fearing I would refuse, he hastily promised, “Don’t worry—I swear I’ll never see Faye again. If that’s not enough, I can send her away
immediately. As long as you’ll come back with me, you can punish me however you want… just don’t leave me.”
Dominic began to cry as he spoke.
But I knew this was just his tactic to gain my sympathy. He didn’t truly believe he
had done anything wrong.

“Dominic, do you really love me? If you love me, why have you abandoned me repeatedly? If you love me, why have you never believed in me?” These were
questions I had asked him countless times before.
How had Dominic answered back then?
He’d said, “Stop being unreasonable. I’m already with you–what more do you want? I’m just taking extra care of Faye. Look at yourself—you’re acting like a jealous shrew.”
Those words had cut into my heart like knives. I would never forget them.
So I would never forgive Dominic.
Forgiving him would be cruel to my past self.
Besides, I truly didn’t love him anymore. Through countless instances of pain, my
once–abundant love had been worn away, leaving only disgust.
Dominic’s tears stopped. The light in his eyes seemed to shatter at that moment, his lips turning pale. He tried to explain: “No, that’s not true. I do love you, I just—” “You just thought Faye was pitiful and wanted to take care of her, so hurting me didn’t matter because I loved you so much that I’d always forgive you, right?” I said
each word deliberately, leaving Dominic speechless.
After all, this was exactly what he had thought.
I looked at him coldly. “Whether you’re genuinely remorseful or have truly realized you love me–Dominic, it’s over between us.”
“We’ve broken up.”
Dominic shook his head repeatedly. “No. I never agreed to the breakup. Sienna, I know you won’t forgive me right away, but I won’t give up. I’ll prove my sincerity to
you.”
He didn’t leave. Instead, he found a place to stay near my house.
When Callum learned Dominic had tracked me down, he was furious and wanted to confront him immediately. I couldn’t help but smile at his protectiveness. Beside me, Adrian’s expression changed subtly. He narrowed his eyes, seemingly
contemplating something.

Sure enough, the next time Dominic came by, Callum answered the door. He immediately started berating Dominic and threw him out.
“I’m warning you–stay away from my sister or you’ll regret it! Get lost!” Callum
didn’t mince words.
