Chapter 239
Phoebe pretended not to notice anything and continued her daily routine, following a strict schedule.
That day, after finishing her scenes, Maddox received a call from his agent.
After listening, he was visibly surprised. “Alright, I’ll head over right now.”
Then, noticing Phoebe stepping out after changing clothes, an idea struck him. “Pheebs, can you do me a favor?”
Phoebe asked, “What kind of favor?”
Maddox explained honestly, “My brother’s childhood friend, Mr. Vaughan, who also works at our company, just got into a car accident and is in the hospital. Lately, he’s been extremely unlucky, and I feel like something is off. I wanted to ask you to check if there’s anything wrong with him.”
Phoebe smiled. “That’s no problem at all.”
With that, they got into the car and headed to the hospital.
It was an upscale private hospital with tight security and excellent privacy.
Wearing masks, they walked inside without attracting any attention or paparazzi.

As they reached the hospital room, Phoebe immediately sensed a heavy aura of dark energy.
Maddox pushed the door open.
Inside, there were three men–one lying in bed, one sitting, and one standing.
Phoebe recognized the one lying down–it was Remy, the president of Monarch Entertainment.
He looked deathly pale, half–reclining on the bed, receiving an IV drip. His expression was weary and drained.
Sitting beside him was a handsome and refined–looking man, calmly peeling an apple with a knife.
Standing next to the bed was a cold and intimidating man, who looked like he wasn’t easy to mess with.
As Maddox entered with Phoebe, all three turned to look at them.
Remy, knowing Maddox’s little crush, wasn’t surprised to see Phoebe.
But he was slightly taken aback–was Maddox bringing Phoebe here because their relationship was official now?
Maddox, on the other hand, paused when he saw the other two men.
Looking at the refined man, he greeted, “Hello, big bro.”
Then, turning to the cold–looking man, he said, “Gauge.”
Gauge, upon seeing Maddox, softened his sharp gaze slightly.
He then looked at Phoebe and asked, “And she is?”
Gauge had heard from Remy that Maddox had fallen for a female celebrity.
During a recent variety show, this very celebrity had saved Maddox’s life.
Judging by this beautiful and confident young woman, he figured she must be the one.
Maddox smiled and introduced her. “This is my friend, Phoebe, She also happens to be my lifesaver.”
Then, turning to Phoebe, he introduced, “This is my brother, Gauge.”
Pointing to the refined man, he continued, “That’s Emmett, the older brother of the guy in bed.”
Finally, he gestured to Remy. “And this is Remy Vaughan, the president of our company–you probably know him.”
Phoebe smiled warmly and greeted them. “Nice to meet you all
Gauge, trying to soften his normally sharp expression, nodded and said, “So, you’re Ms. Jenkins. Thank you for saving my brother. Our family wanted to visit and thank you in person, but Maddox insisted on handling it himself. So, we refrained from disturbing you.”

He offered an explanation as to why they never formally visited her to express their gratitude.
Of course, while they hadn’t shown up at her doorstep, they had certainly not forgotten the favor.
Phoebe smiled. “It was just a small act of kindness. You’re too polite.”
Gauge responded, “It was the least we could do.”
Not wanting to linger on the topic, Maddox redirected the conversation to Remy’s current condition.
*Remy, you’ve been so unlucky lately. I suspect something is wrong, so I asked Phoebe to check on you,”
Remy raised an eyebrow. “Something wrong with me?”
Maddox nodded. “I think you might have picked up something… unnatural.”
Remy was speechless. ‘So this was about supernatural stuff?‘
Only now did he remember–not only was Phoebe Maddox’s crush, but she was also a horoscope master.
He had indeed been having a string of terrible luck lately, but he hadn’t considered it to be anything paranormal.
Still, since Maddox had brought Phoebe all this way, it wouldn’t be polite to refuse.
Smiling, he said, “Well, I guess I didn’t treat you too badly after all, huh? You’re looking out for me.”
Then, turning to Phoebe, he added, “Go ahead and take a look. Personally, I feel fine–it’s probably just Maddox overreacting.”
Phoebe immediately noticed the sinister energy clinging to him.
“Well, your instincts seem to be less accurate than Maddox’s. Right now, you’re completely shrouded in bad luck. If you don’t fix it soon, it could cost you your life.”
Everyone in the room was stunned.
Remy looked skeptical, pointing to himself. “I’m that unlucky?”
Phoebe nodded. “Yes. Your aura is full of malicious energy–you have a death omen.”
Remy’s expression turned serious. “It’s really that bad? Can you tell what’s causing it?”
Phoebe carefully examined his energy, then made some calculations with her fingers.
“You started having bad luck about two weeks ago, right? Your sleep has been terrible–you have nightmares, wake up suddenly, and feel drained during the day. You’re constantly fatigued but unable to fall asleep. And today’s car accident–you avoided a blocked road by taking a detour, didn’t you?”
Remy’s eyes widened in shock. “You.., you got everything right.”
Maddox and his friends knew about Remy’s unlucky streak, so it wasn’t surprising that Phoebe was aware of it.

But the nightmares, the sudden awakenings, the daytime exhaustion, and even today’s traffic detour–he had never mentioned those details to
anyone.
Yet, Phoebe had pinpointed every single one.
This wasn’t guesswork.
A sense of unease crept up his spine.
“So… what you’re saying is… this isn’t just normal bad luck?”
Phoebe nodded “Correct. You’re cursed–someone tampered with your energy
Just then, she noticed his forehead darkening rapidly. Her expression changed. “This isn’t good.”
Before anyone could react, Remy suddenly gasped for breath, his face turning deathly pale.
He began convulsing, his body on the verge of shutting down.
Maddox and the others panicked.

Phoebe acted immediately, pulling out his IV drip and grabbing an Exorcism Talisman from her bag.
Since dealing with dark energy was common in her field, she always carried multiple talismans for emergencies.
She pressed the talisman into Remy’s hand.
The moment he clutched the talisman, the dark energy around him visibly weakened.
The black aura on his forehead disappeared, and his breathing stabilized.
His body stopped trembling, and the feeling of imminent death faded.
A moment ago, he had truly felt like he was about to die.
Now, looking at Phoebe, he was completely convinced.
Her ability to see through everything was terrifyingly accurate.
And he knew without a doubt–if Phoebe hadn’t been here, he wouldn’t have survived.
Breathing heavily, he looked at her, his voice still weak. “What… what just happened to me? Was there something wrong with the IV drip?”
