Chapter 423
Reece still felt a bit uneasy I con est back down and said. If you want to get hit, go ahead and follow her. Don’t overthink it Phoebe is so strong, she doesn’t need our protection. Just don’t go and be a burden. And if you follow, the will bear you and hate you even more. Right now, Phoebe definitely wouldn’t hold back if the decided to act
Reece was left speechless. It stung, but he couldn’t argue. He slumped back down, defeated. The group continued playing cards, waiting for Phoebe to return, planning to take turns resting when she dirl
Phoebe followed the map’s location, only to end up at the edge of a cliff. Without hesitation, the infused the emerald clasp off her neck with positive energy. Then, something incredible happened. The emerald clasp suddenly glowed with a layer of silver light, extending from Phoebe’s feet to the cliff’s edge.
The light then began to move downward along the cliff. Phoebe quickly followed, removing climbing gear from her backpack and preparing to descend, following the silver glow.
After more than ten minutes, the silver light suddenly transformed into intricate patterns from the emerald clasp and settled in one spot. That spot was a naturally formed cave in the middle of the cliff. Phoebe didn’t hesitate and immediately leaped into the cave.
The cave was pitch black, so Phoebe turned on her flashlight. She walked deeper into the cave for several hundred feet before discovering another smaller chamber.
Phoebe continued forward, but just as she was about to enter the smaller chamber, a powerful force blocked her way. preventing her from stepping any further.
She could also feel the fluctuations of a magic field emanating from within the chamber. Phoebe had attempted to break through the barrier, but she couldn’t get past it despite her efforts.
Phoebe wasn’t surprised. She placed the emerald clasp at the center of the magic field, where she had deduced it should go. Sure enough, the force of the magical barrier gradually faded, and the restraining power disappeared. No wonder they said the emerald clasp was the key–this was what it meant.
Phoebe successfully entered the chamber. There were no signs that anyone had been here before. Even if someone had discovered the cave on the cliff without the emerald clasp, they wouldn’t have been able to enter.
As Phoebe walked deeper into the cave and turned a corner, she noticed a source of light ahead, as bright as daylight. She gripped the emerald clasp in one hand and the evil energy saber coin in the other as she ventured forward. Instead of encountering any attacks or trouble, she was stunned by the sight before her.
Ahead of her was a hidden paradise–a lush area filled with dense plants and vibrant flowers, with a small stream gently flowing through it. The air was far purer and fresher than outside. If a horoscope master were to cultivate here, it would greatly help their practice.
Phoebe walked deeper into the area but didn’t encounter any animals along the way. Instead, she began to feel an intense, unsettling energy–life itself seemed to be gradually weakening and even starting to disappear. She quickened her pace. moving further into the unknown.
At the end of the stream, in front of an open space, Phoebe saw two creatures lying on the ground–a snake and an eagle- both exuding an aura of Ascendance Realm energy. Their sizes were far beyond normal, massive and imposing
The snake was no ordinary creature. It was a massive, ruby–red serpent, its body gleaming like a ruby, with a pair translucent red wings growing from its back–an extraordinary flying serpent.

At that moment, the serpent was coiled around the eagle, its fangs sinking into its vital spot, where blood flowed. The eagle had just breathed its last breath.

However, the flying serpent wasn’t in good condition either. The weakening life force she had felt earlier was coming from the serpent. When the serpent saw Phoebe, its eyes were initially cold and hostile, as if it intended to use its remaining strength to fight her.
But the coldness in its eyes faded when Phoebe lifted the emerald clasp between her fingers and ler the flying serpent see it. Instead, it let out a sorrowful cry.
Moments later, its tail moved toward a nearby patch of grass, and an egg was carefully retrieved, cradling it as it dithered back. With a pleading, almost human–like expression in its eyes, the serpent extended the egg toward Phoebe as if entrusting it to her.
Phoche reached out and took the serpent’s egg. “You want me to care for your child?” she asked
The flying serpent nodded, then, using the last of its strength, lifted its tail and pointed toward a specific direction. Moments later, its massive body collapsed with a heavy thud. Perhaps knowing its child had been entrusted to someone, it passed away peacefully.
Holding the serpent egg. Phoebe stepped closer to examine the scene. She noticed that the deceased flying serpent carried the same energy as this secluded place, while the massive cagle bore the distinct aura of the outside world.
It must have intruded upon this hidden sanctuary, intending to claim it for itself. However, after a fierce battle with the flying serpent, the eagle ultimately met its demise, strangled to death. Yet, before dying, it had managed a final, fatal counterattack–piercing the serpent’s vital point and crushing its gallbladder in its beak.
Phoebe could sense that this flying serpent must have had some connection to her mentor Percival Burgess’s benefactors. That would explain why, instead of attacking her in its final moments, it entrusted her with its child’s safety
She first drew a ritual talisman and placed it on the flying serpent’s body. Sitting cross–legged, she began chanting a prayer to spirit guiding. After the ritual, she cremated the serpent’s remains and scattered the ashes into the stream.
With the serpent’s final wishes in mind, she carefully cradled the egg and followed its indicated direction. Eventually, she came across a large nest of serpents
She was also surprised to find that beneath the nest lay piles of energy stones–the same type Maddox had given her. These stones were nearly impossible to find outside and highly coveted by horoscope masters, yet they were carelessly piled in large quantities.
The flying serpent’s energy had been so strong. If it hadn’t entered a weakened state after laying its eggs, that eagle wouldn’t have been able to defeat it. The serpent had used its last bit of energy to open the barrier in the direction it had pointed, likely to allow her access to these energy stones.
Phoebe had come with a backpack. She filled it with as many energy stones as possible, leaving the rest behind. She also discovered a piece of animal hide at the very bottom of the serpent’s nest.
She picked it up and examined it. The hide was inscribed with a letter
Fitten by Percival’s benefactors. It had detailed how they had accidentally come to this mountain, saved a flying serpent, and formed a bond with it
This place was ideal for cultivation, and the flying serpent agreed that their descendants could come here to train. In its honor, he carved an emerald clasp shaped like the serpent.
He told the flying serpent that anyone who entered wearing the clasp should be allowed to stay and cultivate. However, his concern for his family made him choose not to stay.
He then set up a magic field at the cave’s entrance, ensuring that only those carrying the emerald clasp could break the formation and enter. Animals were not restricted, allowing the flying serpent to come and go freely.
An agreement was also made with the serpent not to harm humans. The emerald clasp was engraved with the image of the flying serpent. Upon seeing it, the flying serpent instantly changed its attitude toward her.
The legendary guardian spirit was likely the flying serpent, which had been protecting the creatures of the mountain. Now

that Phoebe had reached the Ascendance Realm, she needed to focus more on her enlightenment and growth.
The energy stones would help her, but this place didn’t offer much else. Moreover, the had many tasks ahead of her and didn’t want to remain isolated
She took another walk around, cradling the serpent egg. Along the way, the discovered some rare herbs, including a thousand–year–old longevity herb. She carved a small wooden box, placed the herb inside, and sealed it with a talisman to preserve its potency
Using the same method, she gathered several more valuable herbs. She tied up a dozen wooden boxes with vines and strapped them to her back, alongside her backpack. With everything packed, she left the area.
After restoring the magic field, she ensured the emerald clasp would remain the key to entering the area. Just as she finished, she suddenly noticed that the serpent egg in her arms had begun to crack open.
