Chapter 15
When they arrived at school, Karen took Rosalie to the principal’s office, while Phoebe and Tianna returned to the classroom.
Phoebe was greeted constantly. With her elegant demeanor, stunning looks, top grades, and polite manner, she’d been Hodgeson High’s campus belle since Middle School. Popular and versatile, she’d been adored by everyone.
As soon as she entered the classroom, several girls came over to welcome her.
“Phoebe, you’re here. We just saw you outside the window… There was another girl with you. Is that your newly adopted sister?”
Phoebe smiled, “Yeah, that’s my sister Rosalie.”
“Phoebe, you’re too kind. We all heard about when your family took her in. How could your parents tolerate such a vulgar country girl?”
“Exactly. She has no manners and keeps causing trouble. How can such an adopted girl be so arrogant?”
“Yeah, like a cuckoo in the nest–so shameless.”
Phoebe’s smile faltered, then she sighed softly. “Please don’t say that. Rosalie is my sister, and that won’t change.”
Everyone could sense her helplessness. Their sympathy for Phoebe deepened, believing she was forced to bear such an unfair burden.
“No matter what, we’ll stand by your side.”
They swore that they would never allow that adopted girl to have any chance to bully the kind and beautiful Phoebe.
Ideally, it would be best if she could voluntarily vanish from Phoebe’s sight.
Phoebe smiled, “Thank you.”
On the other side, Karen took Rosalie to the principal’s office.
Having already made prior arrangements, Karen pushed Rosalie forward as soon as they entered.
“Mr. Burnett, this is Rosalie.”
The principal, Jagger Burnett, sized Rosalie up. “I’ve already gained a rough understanding of Rosalie’s situation. Shall we proceed with the placement test now?”
Rosalie kept her eyes lowered and remained silent.
Jagger smiled warmly. “No need to be nervous. Just answer the questions you know, like you’re doing regular homework. If there’s something you can’t solve, you can always learn it later.”
Karen frowned, shooting a sharp glance at Rosalie, who stood there rigid as a statue, before quickly replying, “Got it.”
At once, Jagger turned to the corner and said softly, “Mr. Wade, you’ll be in charge of Rosalie’s placement test.”
Only then did Karen realize there was another person in the principal’s office besides Jagger.
The man looked remarkably young, with clear eyebrows and delicate features. Curled up on the sofa, he held a phone in his arms, completely engrossed in it.
Had Jagger not addressed him as “Mr. Wade,” a casual glance might have mistaken him for a Hodgeson High student.
A few seconds later, the man stood up from the sofa, slipped his mobile phone into his trouser pocket, and struck a cool stance.
“This is Mr. Adrian Wade, homeroom teacher of the Advanced Class of 12th Grade.”
Karen gave Rosalie a nudge. “Don’t just stand there like a statue. Say hello.”
Adrian drawled, “No need. Come with me to the next office for the test.”
With that, he strode out without checking if anyone followed.
Rosalie paused briefly before trailing him out of the principal’s office,
Seeing they left, Karen hesitated, and then turned to Jagger.

Jagger smiled amicably, prompting her gently, “Mrs. Spencer, do you have concerns?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Karen finally asked, “My child has a weak academic foundation. I was wondering… could we place her in 9th Grade instead?”
Jagger froze for a moment. “Well… Mrs. Spencer, I assume you haven’t discussed this decision with Rosalie yet?”
The initial communication had specified that Rosalie would enroll in 12th Grade.
