Chapter 28
Carey or for dining
“Annabel, it’s okay. Rosalie didn’t do anything wrong. Every student has the right to participate in the competition.” Phoebe walked over and gently tugged at Annabel’s hand, smiling. “And, I’m planning to join the competition too.”
Phoebe managed to defuse the situation for Annabel while also diverting the attention of the rest of the class.
“Phoebe, you’re joining the competition? Then I’ll join too.”
“Phoebe, what subject are you going to participate in?”
“I’m thinking of joining, too. Can we go to class together then?”
Several people crowded around, bombarding Phoebe with questions. Phoebe smiled and answered each one in turn. “I’ll submit my application after the piano competition. I’m planning to sign up for math. Okay. Of course, we can go to class together.”
It was so noisy. Rosalie glanced at Phoebe, who was surrounded by the crowd, then turned and prepared to leave in the opposite direction.
The girl who had come with Annabel quickly stepped forward, blocking Rosalie’s path.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow, her gaze cold.
The girl smiled, “Rosalie, I need to talk to you. Can we have a chat?”
“No, I don’t know you. Please move aside.” Rosalie flatly refused.
In that instant, the confident expression on the girl’s face shattered.
Krista chuckled, “Yvonne, Rosalie has only been in school for two days. How could she possibly know you?”
Yvonne’s face darkened, and she remained silent.
Rosalie covered her mouth with her hand and yawned. “Excuse me, could you move?”
“Rosalie, you will regret it,” Yvonne, with a hint of arrogance, snorted coldly and turned back to her seat.
Rosalie took the application form and went to the faculty office.
The moment Adrian saw Rosalie come in, he was beaming with joy. “Rosalie, do your best. You’re destined for greatness. I’m proud of you.”
Rosalie turned and left, her expression indifferent.
As soon as she got back to her seat, Krista leaned over. “Rosalie, I think you should be careful. That girl just now is Yvonne Donovan, a member of the Donovan family.
“She’s close with Phoebe. It’s said that she played a role in the marriage alliance between the Donovan and Spencer families. They might think you’re in their way.”
Rosalie lowered her eyes, her expression unaltered. “Got it.”
Krista sighed sympathetically, “I think you’re really unlucky. Your family is even more unbearable than my annoying relatives.”
Krista thought to herself, ‘If the Spencer family truly regarded Rosalie as their daughter, they wouldn’t let rumors run wild in the school.
“Their inaction is the real reason Rosalie is being ridiculed. And then there’s Phoebe, who occasionally stirs up trouble. Oh, and there’s that fool-
At half past five in the afternoon, the school bell rang.
Phoebe gathered her things and prepared to get up. Tianna suddenly turned her head and gave her a meaningful look. “Phoebe, I’m having trouble with a problem. Could you help me with it?”
Phoebe paused for a moment, recalling that Tianna had gone out during the morning break. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she smiled, “Sure, wait a minute. I need to let Rosalie know.”
“Okay” Tianna was satisfied with this response and nodded in agreement. ‘If Phoebe is protecting Rosalie, I really won’t be able to do anything to her, she thought to herself.
Phoebe put down her things, got up, and walked over to Rosalie. “Rosalie, Tianna needs help with a problem, and I’m going to tutor her. Can you wait a bit? Or you could just head to the car first?”

“Okay.” Rosalie nodded, not particularly concerned. She picked up her bag and walked out of the classroom.

Phoebe pursed her lips, watching Rosalie disappear through the door, before returning to her seat. “Tianna, which problem don’t you understand?”
At that moment, Tianna suddenly seemed to have an epiphany. “I just got it. Thanks, no need to explain. I know what to do now. Let’s hurry back. You still need to practice the piano.”
Phoebe didn’t move. She quietly observed her for a moment. “Tianna, what are you planning to do?”
Tianna didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she glanced at the time, calculating Rosalie’s pace. ‘She should have already left the school building. Phoebe won’t have a chance to save her, she thought to herself, before finally revealing her plan in detail.
Phoebe’s frown deepened, and her voice took on a stern tone. “Tianna, this is going too far.”
Tianna nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders. “I just want to teach her a lesson. I won’t actually do anything serious. The guy I’ve contacted knows his limits. Nothing will go wrong. Trust me.”
‘She won’t be in any real danger. At worst, she’ll just be ruined, Tianna added to herself in her mind.
Initially, Tianna hadn’t intended to go this far with Rosalie, but Rosalie had actually hooked up with Hayden.
If Rosalie really succeeded, she’d be the one in charge in the future. Besides, Tianna still hadn’t gotten her revenge for being forced to apologize that day.
“Tianna, Rosalie-” Phoebe tried to reason.
“Enough. Stop talking. You’ll thank me later,” Tianna cut her off. “Let’s hurry and go watch the show.”
With that, she grabbed Phoebe’s hand and quickly ran out of the classroom.
The Spencer family’s car was parked on the street next to the school.
It was a five–minute walk from the school entrance, around the corner. Many students walked along this stretch of road.
As Rosalie turned the corner, there was a sudden commotion ahead, mixed with the boys‘ exclamations and the girls‘ screams.
She looked up and saw a stunning, deep blue, ultra–cool Harley–Davidson motorcycle parked by the roadside outside the corner. A young man with a lean and strong build was sitting on it.
He had a handsome and intense face, with his short hair dyed in fiery red, exuding an air of unrestrained charm.
Among the crowd of students, he was particularly eye–catching. He was holding a helmet in one hand and looking at his phone with the other.
The next second, Rosalie’s phone in her bag started ringing.
Rosalie paused for a moment, but instead of taking out her phone, she quickened her pace. “Stop calling. I’m right here.”
The young man looked up, his face full of delight. “Hi, Risa.”
All the students from Hodgeson High School turned their gazes toward Rosalie.
Rosalie was incredibly beautiful, and with all the rumors about her being the adopted daughter of the Spencer family, many had specifically gone to the Advanced Class to see her.
No one had expected that this fiery, handsome young man would be looking for Rosalie.
Rosalie’s lips twitched. “Aren’t you supposed to be in a competition? How do you have time to come here?”
“The regional round just happens to be in Webston,” he said, suddenly raising both hands in a pleading gesture that was quite out of character for him.
He finished by winking cutely. “Risa, help me, please.”
“Huh?” Rosalie was puzzled.
“My teammate has an old injury that’s acting up. Could you help him get through the Webston regional round?” he asked. “Sure, but–Rosalie paused, looking him up and down. “Just call me next time. Don’t show up like this unexpectedly.”
He blinked, nodded obediently, and handed her the helmet hanging from the handlebars. “Hop on. I’ll take you there.”
Rosalie took the helmet.

“By the way, I was afraid I’d forget. Here, take this first” With that, he reached into his leather jacket pocket, pulled out a roll of something, and stuffed it into Rosalic’s hand.
