After Zachary left, Quentin suddenly snapped to his senses and grabbed Diana by the arm. “Have you lost your mind?” he demanded. “Do you realize what you just told Zachary?
*If he goes to confront Harrison directly and tells him he heard all this fro
from you, the Jenkins family is finished.”
Diana winced as Quentin’s grip dug painfully into her arm, but the words were out. There was no taking them back. She wrenched her aching hand free from his grasp and glared at him, eyes blazing with anger.
“Then tell me.” Diana snapped, “the Lopez family clearly isn’t trying to hold Gwyneth back anymore. If Zachary doesn’t step in to rein her in for us, shell ride the Lopez family’s coattails straight out of control
“Besides, Zachary and Harrison are at odds. With the two of them fighting, Gwyneth will be stuck between her ex and her husband. That’ll make her easier for us to control. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
True, Quentin thought anxiously, but what if this blows up and reaches the higher–ups in the Lopez family? If they demand Harrison divorce Gwyneth, all my efforts would be for nothing‘
Thinking of this. Quentin shook his head vigorously. This won’t do. If the Lopez family ever finds out that, as her parents, we instigated her EX- boyfriend to sabotage her marriage with them, isn’t that-
“When did we ever push Zachary into anything? Diana shot back, cutting Quentin off.
She stepped closer, trying to reassure him. “We just knew he and Gwyneth had history and thought they broke up amicably. All we wanted was for Zachary to talk to her. We didn’t ask him to do anything else.
“Besides, Zachary never even asked about Gwyneth’s relationship with Harrison. It’s not that we withheld the information he simply didn’t ask.” The implication was clear. Ignorance meant innocence.
Quentin felt the tension drain from him. “True enough. We didn’pactively instigate anything, so whatever happens later won’t be our responsibility. “Besides, now that Gwyneth is married into the Lopez family, she won’t divorce easily. With her ex–1 under our thumb,”

Diana couldn’t help but smile as well. She and Quentin exchanged a knowing glance. It was killing two birds with one stone.
Meanwhile, at the Flynn Group branch office, the assistant Abel brought the Lopez family’s Galvocity project proposal to Zachary,
“The Lopez family has revised this proposal several times, he reported. “Adan gave his approval right away and hopes we can get started as soon as possible.”
“No rush. Zachary turned slowly, his cold gaze lingering on the thick proposal. “Has the Jenkins Group responded? Did Gwyneth agree to come to the Flynn Group in person to meet with me?”
Abel hesitated, looking uneasy. “There’s still no word from Ms. Jenkins yet, but the Lopez family is pressing hard for the Galvocity mall project. What do you think we should do?”
“Just keep waiting, Zachary said firmly. “Til wait until Gwennie comes around.”
After all, the Galvocity mall project wasn’t something that could be wrapped up overnight. Zachary was in no rush, completely at ease. Seeing that he couldn’t hurry Zachary, Abel gave up. Since the project was already in their hands, waiting a lile longer wouldn’t hurt..
Quentin deliberately pressured Gwyneth, employing both carrots and sticks to make her seek Zachary’s help, all to secure a piece of the action in the Calvocity mall project.
Gwyneth found her projects at the Jenkins Group deliberately obstructed by every department, all at Quentin’s veiled instructions.
Several of her team leaders and deputy department heads, looking desperate and at their wits end, rushed into her office to pour out their complaints
“If the finance deparment doesn’t approve this batch of funds soon, the whole project’s going to go down the drain. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars here”
