Chapter 113
Outside the Lopez manor, Quentin and Diana got out of their car, each holding a big box. The butler, told they were coming half an hour earlier. politely led them inside.
“Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins,” the butler said politely. “Liam is waiting for you. We also told Harrison and Gwyneth you’re here.”
They were surprised that Gwyneth was at the Lopez manor. Just then, Gwyneth came back from her walk in the garden, saw them, and walked over.
Gwyneth looked at the boxes in their arms and raised an eyebrow. “So these are the gifts for Liam?”
“Yeah,” Quentin said, sweat forming on his forehead as he secretly held the box closer to his chest.
He added, “Gwennie, I’m not just here to thank for the project–Im also trying to help you.”
Gwyneth felt even more curious. Quentin had been giving gifts like everyone in the world needed to know about it, but they were sneaking around, carrying heavy presents like they were afraid of being seen.
Gwyneth looked carefully at the two boxes. They looked big enough for porcelain or wood carvings. She frowned, about to ask what was going on.
Harrison stepped behind her, speaking coolly and firmly. “Since you’re here to thank us, why act so secretive with such fancy gifts! Open them and khow everyone.”
Diana hesitated, glancing nervously at Quentin. Quentin looked away from Gwyneth, acting sneaky.
Betty helped Liam go downstairs. Seeing many people in the hall, she scolded, “Clear the way!

Liam gently held Berry’s hand to calm her down. Smiling kindly at the Jenkins family, he said, “Harrison, could you call someone to help carry gifts?”
“Gwyneth and Lare here, no need to bother the stat, Harrison said, holding out his hand to help.
With Liam there, Quentin and Diana had no choice but to give the boxes over. When they opened them, inside were two beautiful porcelain pieces.
Gwyneth saw right away that they were her mother’s work, and sharp pain hit her chest. She turned to her father and said, trembling. “Dad, Mom made these two pieces for you they were like her love for you.
“But you use her hard work as bargaining chips to get what you want, her voice shook, and tears came to her eyes as she looked at Quentin with
anger.
Hearing this, everyone in the Lopez family was stunned. Betty, always blunt, snapped, “No matter how nice the gifts, we shouldn’t take them.” She asked. “Why did you bring such gifts?”
Liam’s face turned cold. He loved his late wife very much and was loyal to her till the end. Seeing those gifts made him furious–he would never accept them.
Seeing he was about to upset the Lopez family, Quentin quickly said, “These aren’t my late wife’s work–just normal porcelain. Gwyneth, since your mom passed away, you’ve only hated me.
“Now that you married into a better family, you spread these false stories about me–are you trying to make me look like a heartless, ungrateful mant Gwyneth, why do you hate me so much?”
He shouted, his eyes red with fake emotion
Furious, Gwyneth flipped over a porcelain piece so everyone could see. The base had her mother’s and Quentin’s names engraved. She asked, “Isn’t that your
piece?
your name, Dad? If this wasn’t Mom’s work, full of her love for you, why would she engrave that on such a beautiful Gwyneth’s voice trembled with anger. “The sad part is, you used it for your own benefit and didn’t even bother to look carefully at what you were giving away!
Her words hit hard. Quentin froze, speechless, while Diana panicked and hurried to fix things.
Liam spoke coldly, “Mr. Jenkins, it looks like you don’t love your late wife at all and didn’t come here to give a real gift. The Lopez family doesn’t want these please take them back.”
Then he looked at Harrison. “Can’t you see how upset Gwyneth is? Take her away and let her rest.”

They were hoping to turn things around. Just then, a maid brought in Melanie, who was dressed up for her happened. She was over ten minutes late.
Melanie was quickly pulled by Diana, who forced a bright smile and said, “About the gift, it was really just a mistake.
“We thought since the porcelain was from Gwyneth’s birth mother, bringing it here was like giving it back to her. We never meant to be disrespectful.”
Diana added, “This is Melanie–Gwyneth’s little sister. She’s always been a sweet girl, and she also brought gifts today. Melanie, hurry and show
them.
Diana nudged Melanie, who quickly showed her gifts. When it was Betty’s turn, Melanie’s eyes sparkled as she carefully opened a box revealing a sapphire necklace. With excitement, Melanie said. “This is from a top designer.
“No, thanks,” Betty said, not even looking at it. She crossed her arms and said. “I thought you all came to visit Gwyneth.”
She added, “But Quentin, you brought your late wife’s keepsake to hurt Liam’s feelings and sent your mistress’s daughter to give me a gift. Am I not good enough for anything better!
Melanie froze, furious. Diana, just as surprised, bit her lip and protested, “I am not a mistress!”
Beity sneered, “You know exactly what you are. I won’t accept this gift.
She pushed away the necklace Melanie offered, full of contempt. “Don’t try to flatter me. Adrian may be young and swayed by looks, but I’m not. I see through your little tricks–yours and your mother’s.”
Melanie cried, “Berry-”
Berry sneered, completely unfazed by her distressed expression.
She said, “You don’t even know your place, Melanie.”
