Chapter 63
Bella tilted her chin slightly. “We’re not stalking you. Zachary just really likes this neighborhood and bought me a place in this building.”
The way she bragged made Gwyneth speechless. Without even glancing at Bella, she walked straight into the elevator.
She felt sick. Zachary was asking for her help, yet still used Bella to disgust her.
Bella, annoyed by Gwyneth’s silence, clearly wasn’t done. She opened her mouth to say more, but Zachary grabbed her hand,
Just drop it,” he said.
“Fine” Bella bit her lip and held back her anger.
They stayed quiet and didn’t press any
buttons.
When the elevator reached the top floor, they followed Gwyneth out. That was when she finally turned around, clearly out of patience. If you keep following me. I’m calling security.”
“I really want to say sorry,” Zachary said, trying to keep calm. “You look tired tonight. I don’t want to bother you. How about I book a lunch spot tomorrow? We can talk then I hope you’ll have time…”
“I don’t have time, Gwyneth cut him off. She checked the time and said, “You can leave now. Stop wasting my time.”
She opened her bag to find her keys, but Zachary suddenly grabbed her arm.
Let go of me!” she yelled, trying to pull away on instinct
Zachary only held her tighter. “Gwyneth, if you’re willing to forgive me, just be friends again. I’ll help you get a strong footing at Jenkins Group, no matter what happens with the business
“If you need projects, Everprosper Group can give them to you. If you need results, I can show you how to land our accounts,”
Gwyneth stared at him, her expression slowly turning to disbelief.
She had worked hard for Everprosper Group too. If she really needed help from them, plenty of people would step up. She didn’t need Zachary’s charity
She yanked her arm free and said sharply. “I helped build Everprosper Group from scratch. I can make it on my own at Jenkins Group too Zachary, don’t think you’re that important. If you touch me again, I’ll call the cops”
Her icy glare made Zachary froze
He honestly didn’t know what he had said wrong. He really meant to help, but she wanted nothing to do with iL
Just as Gwyneth was about to head inside, Zachary rushed to block her door.
“Gwennie, just give me one more chance” he dragged out the words like he used to when he acted sweet with her.
But now, all Gwyneth felt was disgust.
Just then, the door across the hall swung open.
Harrison, dressed in a white shirt and dress pants, leaned halfway out. His cold gaze swept over the three of them before landing squarely on Gwyneth
Zachary’s eyes widened slightly. He hadn’t expected Harrison to be living right across from Gwyneth
Running into him at a moment like this was the last thing he’d imagined. Caught off guard, he stammered. “Mr. Lopez, I’m Zachary Flynn from Everprosper Group…
“Come here” Harrison said calmly, his eyes on Gwyneth growing darker and more intense
Gwyneth finally snapped out of it. She was surprised Harrison lived right across from her–and had no idea why he was calling her over–but without hesitation, she walked straight into his apartment without looking back
Zachary watched her go to another man and felt a rush of complicated emotions. His voice caught in his throat, choking him with something he couldn’t quite name.

“Gwennic-” he still wasn’t ready to give up.
But Harrison shut the door without mercy, cutting off that unfinished nickname mid–breath.
